so i jus got offered a new truck with only 40000 miles on it. the catch is that i have to pay 200 a month and pay the guy around 2000 for it. now i was plannin on gettin a little corolla for 800 that only has 150k on it and that would last me a while. however im plannin on movin to colorado next year and the truck would come in handy. but in order to keep it i need to keep paying it and i had this whole great summer of festivals planned and if i get the truck its pretty much down the drain. so some advice please, is it time to grow up and take the truck and start workin, or should i have one more summer before i start my career out west?
With 150k on the corolla, you'd be lucky to make it to all the festies anyway. It's a matter of what you want more. A fun summer or reliability and peace of mind.

Unless the owner of the corolla has log after log of maintenance work... it doesn't have another 150 on it. Sure, the motor might take another 150k but the tranny? Not to mention cars at that age start to nickel and dime pretty bad. I could easily see you buying it for 800 and needing to put another 5-7 into it before summers end. Of course that's just based on general experience as I know nothing of the actual car you're looking at.
