I have 3/4 inch lobes, but I had blowouts about three months ago that have healed. Is it smart to try to stretch further?
you has no replies! i got blowouts at 1/2" and continued to 5/8" with few problems. i didnt downsize or attempt to get rid of the blowouts when they happened so they are still there and have been healed there for years. three months should be enough waiting time i think. if you plan on tapering, insert the taper from the back, that way you wont be encouraging the skin to pop out the back more. the one thing you will need to assess is the thickness of your lobes. as long as they are thick and healthy looking, not thinner in any one place, you should be safe to stretch.
Thanks for your reply. I am in the process now of down sizing. I want to get back to a 6g, and start wearing hanging jewery again. I know it may take a while, if at all. If they don't go all the way back to 6g, I will be happy having a higher gauge hole, just smaller than what I have now. My ears are healthy and should close pretty quickly. It just occured to me lately, that too large a hole is just too radical a look for me. I don't want to shock people, which happened much more than not. I know, it's like one day up the next down. I must be bi-polar.
lol i know, i downsized recently too. i was at 5/8" for two years at least and loved them, but i randomly left my jewelry out and within two weeks i was down to 0g. now im at 00g and staying there for awhile. i just bought a crapload of jewelry this size to keep me here lol. i love it cause theres so much more hanging style options. my blowouts also look a lot better.
