Seconded that's rather disgusting of you gardner, to use such a term to discribe 2 successful african-americans in our government, and then to accuse someone else of racism when no race or racial undertones were even mentioned (that's still not clear wether you were joking when making the accusation or not) is awfully devious and disingenious. where is your shame man?
Gardener: I have only pushed my point when in full ownership of the facts. Now they are here it is up to you to to respond honestly. Taking into consideration what you have said within this thread and the other. It seems you have a very short term memory or don't realise what you say from day to day. Yes, where is your shame man. I won't apologise for all three of us being on your case. This point, I think you deserve it and more. I and I think everybody concerned awaits your response. Thanks.
Some who are pro offshore/ANWR drilling are under the assumption that those actions would provide "cheap" domestic oil. As you explain, not the case. Domestic supplied US oil would still be sold at market price. The reason I am in favor of domestic drilling is because of economic, political, and national security issues. That is hilarious!
Of course it will still be sold at market price, but wouldn't the influx of oil from more non-opec nations have a decreasing effect on the market price? Or at least negate or slow down some of the rise in price that we've seen due to rising demand?
One would think, seeing as the supply would be coming from a region that is not as "vulnerable" (with the exception of hurricane season). Don't you love hearing that bullshit "Oil prices surge as tensions in the Middle East increase".
ANWR has about 5-16 billion barrels + the rest of the US has 21 bb, Canada has about 180 bb (of which 175 billion are in the western tar sands that they only started extracting maybe 10 years ago), Mexico has about 12 bb. That's it basically for major reserves in friendly non opec countries. 5-16 bb are not going to cause a flux in prices in the short term or long term. Do you think the companies that drill in ANWR are going to drop the price when selling it to the US? Companies being companies will always look out for their profits and sell at the highest they can get. It is a global economy now and they will sell to the US at world prices or they will stop pumping it.
Yes. It doesn't matter from where - any new supply from anyone anywhere will lower the market price, or slow price increases. You could argue that non-OPEC oil is even better since it helps break the OPEC cartel, and thus reduces their ability to keep the oil price high, but I've always believed that OPEC's ability to control the oil price is greatly exaggerated.
Our biggest, most secure, greenest, highest ROI, best for the people, best for industry, untapped natural reserve is.......conservation. It's the last low hanging fruit.
You should update your search. You quoted his answer in the post that you asked the question in. I have to laugh because that is the epitome of not paying attention
Back to the original topic. Here is a another Youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU6fuFrdCJY It goes a little far, but makes some points. The video goes too fast to absorb a lot of details of the content, but pause throughout and do your own searches on the points made.
I admitted I made the statement about Colin Powel; and Rice. I stand by it. They were used, and in the case of Powell abused. I used the N word, but Bush and his administration carried out the misjustice. I used it specifically to demonstrate that races can be misused to benefit a political agenda without any consideration for their protection. Simply a matter exploitation. The using of what you call lolcat jargon to justify denegrating an honest comment is less understandable. You say it's all in good fun, I question it's humor.
I doubt very much their race came into this. You might be projecting a little here. Quite a pathetic excuse really. But if that is the one your going with... Nothing much more to say about it really. Well, I've got nothing further to say about it. Just to say, please don't use that kinda language if you respond to another post of mine, I'd appreciate it. However you decide to justify it. Edit: I doubt you would appreciate if somebody had said Obama was being used (to get the black vote) because he was a N.... Would you?, no, thought not.
I'll use whatever language I deem necessary to exert influcence in a world that resorts to marketting to foist it's goals on the world. I am currently seeing women used to advance a goal. Thing is women are less likely to mindlessy buy into politcal agendas then races or religions. I think there's a flaw in the marketting. I don't think they have an accurate meassurement. They've discounted women for too long.
You can, but please don't use it when/if responding to my posts, that's all. I don't appreciate it, thanks. I'd rather you just did not bother responding.
Erm, I thought that was obvious from my very first comment to your comment. Thanks for the belated apology, bit late though.
Because they are thinking responsible adult human beings not reliant on any specific mentality or party line. Is an apology ever too late?
So now you are suggesting black people are unthinking, irresponsible and reliant on a specific mentality or party line? Great way to think! This whole is getting bigger. Sometimes it is too late. But I won't make a big deal out of how late it is.
You've used racist labels by your own admission. and you've yet to show any link between lolcats and racism, so your charge against others is unproven. We've even extensively shown a lack of a link. So you've used race at LEAST now to try to win your political arguements. And now sexism as well. I was right, you have no shame
