so everyone says it takes like 3 weeks to a month to get weed out of your system. so that should mean that it takes a month to lower your tolerance, but if i don't smoke for a week or even like 3 days, i feel a difference...is this just me tweakin myself out or what?
No, tolerance is not the same thing as getting all of the weed out of your system. Tolerance is takes place either on a neurological level (receptors became less....receptive to the neurotransmitter) or metabolically (your liver and other organs gets better at filtering out the psychoactive chemical before it gets to the brain). So, it is feasible that your tolerance could go down while you still have residual elements of THC in your system. Although, the whole marijuana tolerance thing is fishy. Folk wisdom unanimously claims that it does exist, but I have also heard that marijuana has a reverse tolerance (aka sensitization).
yeah i think u might be right about the tolerance thing...like i don't think i have that high of a tolerance even tho i've been smoking for over 2 years..well the highs are different from the first like 5-10 times i smoked obviously b/c those were the best but i don't think my tolerance has gone up THAT much...idk though, its hard to tell
My take on the situation is that it is psychological. You just become used to being high, so it's still enjoyable but the constant sense of awe that accompanies the noob smoker is absent...or present to a lesser degree.
