I agree she only ask how one would go about banning such books. That's scary on it's own merits. Yes the list being bandied about is bogus. I really wonder which books she was actually interested in banning.

I don't see how the Maverick could switch running mates and still save face at this point. Dear Sarah would have to step down voluntarily perhaps stating family necessity, but she's not going to do that. She thinks she's the best person for the job. We now have the Northern Lights supplanted over Alaskan skies by the head of Putin. Just when you think politics can't become more bizarre than eight years of Bush/Cheney, you learn they were pikers compared to what may come.

Has Sarah Palins website fact checked that she supported the Gravina Island "Bridge To Nowhere"?

    After saying she didn't?

A bit about factcheck... About FactCheck.org
    Our Mission

We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit, "consumer advocate" for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. We monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews, and news releases. Our goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship, and to increase public knowledge and understanding.

The Annenberg Political Fact Check is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. The APPC was established by publisher and philanthropist Walter Annenberg in 1994 to create a community of scholars within the University of Pennsylvania that would address public policy issues at the local, state, and federal levels.

The APPC accepts NO funding from business corporations, labor unions, political parties, lobbying organizations or individuals. It is funded primarily by the Annenberg Foundation.

Funnily enough... apparently the story actually goes that the sheriff of her town made them pay for the rape kits and she never commented on it. hahaha

    Fucking politics...

About Americans, or the presidential race specifically?

What do most Australians think about President Bush, the presidential campaign, and the American people?

You know, you never hear of some pocket of non-Americans rallying around the Bush cause or saying he's a great man...it's always the exact opposite. I can't imagine why that would be...:p

(Shouldn't his policies appeal to SOME non-Americans? Or if it does, maybe no one wants to admit that they side with someone so universally despised....?)

I hope he keeps her on the ticket, I think she will end up pushing quite a few people towards Obama just because of how annoying she is. I can't wait for the vice presidential debate. I don't really like Biden but I hope he chews Palin up and makes her cry.

I think she will hold her own. At least to the general acceptance of how these debates are typicalls executed. No matter how she responds, the left will claim she is an unfit idiot, and the right will claim she hit a homerun. The fact is she DOES NOT have the experience the other candidates have for blowing smoke out of her ass. However, I still think she will be able to not directly answer questions with the best of them.

What there is an exceptional chance of is hearing something like....“Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America,” Mr. Biden said Wednesday in Nashua, N.H. “Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me.”

Ha, funny. Just found this headline this morning.

What it's like to debate Sarah Palin
    By Andrew Halcro

Anchorage, Alaska - When he faces off against Sarah Palin Thursday night, Joe Biden will have his hands full.

I should know. I've debated Governor Palin more than two dozen times. And she's a master, not of facts, figures, or insightful policy recommendations, but at the fine art of the nonanswer, the glittering generality. Against such charms there is little Senator Biden, or anyone, can do.

Well I am by no means a Biden fan. He's a drug war architect.

But I do believe he is a debate club champion

    And Palin is very dumb.

    I predict a slaughter.

I feel like a bloodthirsty Roman, waiting for the gladiator to be attacked by lions...I was going to say "Christians" but honestly I don't like to equate Sarah Palin and Christianity. Ever.

I thought you were going to say that you realized Biden was a Catholic and that statement would have been pointless.

Eh, Biden could be the Pope and I would STILL not want to associate Palin with Christianity.

....I hope Biden is the Pope, that would be an excellent next-scandal. :D

That might have worked during a normal election year. The American people are scared because of the economy. They will not be beguiled by Sarah Palin's pretty smile and empty cliches.

I was disappointed with the debate. I wanted Sarah Palin to make a really stupid statement, get laughted at, start crying, and stomp out of the room. I guess I'm just a big meany. :p

Ooo ya. Regarding that debate there, where Sarah was debating? You betcha! Say it ain't so, Joe! And ya know, she is a true a maverick you betcha, and a hockey mom and ... umm ... did I mention maverick?

And when she winks at me there, it makes me forget how much of a loon she is, ya know? Ya?
