I think this story is proof that a miracle happend. How can one survive a crash like she did and no medical attention for 8 days? Then that lady had a preminition and they finally found her. I think it's a sad story with a great ending. (aside from the blood clot and broken face) The family finally knows she is alive and the Doctor's say she will make a full recovery.
I never saw that before. I think "Jerry deep in thought" I saw an article about Danny Masterson (Hyde on 70's show) yesterday. That is who you reminded me of when I first came to the threads. I couldn't help but think of you Jerry when I read the article.
I believe in science, nature and biology, when people say having a kid is a miracle I say no it's biology. I've read stories of miracles and I wonder who gets to decide if something is a miracle or not? Who made them so important they get to decide that? What is the official criteria for a miracle? I read that somewhere before on a Catholic Church web site but I can't remember all of it. There is someone who wears a big hat that gets to decide that. Why?
I used to work with a fellow who's wife died of lung cancer, though she was a nurse who never smoked. It was less than a year from diagnosis till she was gone. Around a month before she passed on she told him that she was going to send him some kind of a sign. He is a very honest, family-oriented, devout Catholic. Then, from her hospital bed a week before she passed on, she told him she knew what the sign would be....lightning. I have only been to one funeral in my life, hers, and it was at 1PM at St. Anne's Church. As we arrived it was pouring out, really hard, the sky was low overcast thick clouds, and it was dark like twilight. We sat down, and got settled in, and then boom, thunder, and the lights in the church went out for a couple of minutes. Kelvin told me that when the thunder struck, he looked at his watch and it was 1 o'clock on the dot. After the funeral, we came outside to find that there was not a cloud in the sky, I swear. Everything was soaking wet, and dripping, and the sun was shining in a clear blue sky. I have another from an equally straight shooting, straight arrow, tow the line, pillar of the community type guy. Scott is now a Chiropractor, and is as honest as the day is long, and as he told me this, his eyes were wide as saucers, and he couldn't help laughing through most of it, swearing it was true. He is not lying, I bet my life on it. What happened was, he was hiking to a spot in a steep canyon above an approx. 100 foot waterfall. I've been there, and know where he was. They were another 75 to 100 feet above the creek at the top of a virtually vertical cliff when his friend slipped and fell into the creek far below. Scott said he saw this and worried his friend would get caught in the current and go over the falls. This is the fun part. The next second, he swore up and down, he was pulling his friend out of the creek. He broke out laughing as he told me he did not climb down to him, and it was instantaneous that he was there, 75 to 100 feet below. I believe him.
Thank you very much BlackGuard for sharing that with us. I love to hear stories like the one's you just shared. I am a believer, a true believer. In answer to colloquialone, I cannot tell you who decides if it is a miracle or not. To me it's what one believes. If you think it is chance than that is your right (or whatever it is you believe). I happen to think it's a miracle. It's all a matter of opinion I guess.
In that case, here he is ladies! We have found the PERFECT MAN!!!!!! As for the miracle story, I believe that the world is an extremely random and unpredictable place. It's an amazing story for sure, but I don't believe that she was "saved" for any reason. I rolled my car on icy roads 9 years ago, without a scratch on me. I walked home (1/2 hr walk down a country road in pitch dark cold) and didn't hurt until the next day. Not a miracle, just lucky I didn't hit the telephone pole on the other side of the road!
a miracle implies an action outside the laws that govern reality. While we dont always understand these laws they are there for a reason. and i can not see the universe making these laws only to break them
