My school had to have a whole assembly just to tell the girls that swearing is not lady like and how it demeans you. And that if you speak this way they will take action. Well, I think they need to pull the fucking stick out of their goddamn asses, I mean what the fuck? Should I not be allowed the freedom to say what I please in a "free country"? Oh i forgot you have no freedoms in school......
Did they tell the boys something similar? If not, it's discrimination and it's illegal. Who the fuck wants to be "lady like" anyway?
treehuggerT is right, it is discrimination. So, if they didn't tell the boys some of that nonsense bullshit, then I'd say you take action! Teach the school a lesson. If a boy can say it, then by ****, you can say it too! (**** is also my favorite )
I feel your pain. A few years back my P.E. teacher forced all the girls to listen to her ramble about how if we didn't take part in sports we would become "whores". Then she proceeded to tell us a story about some girl at another local school who was pregnant. Let's just say a few people were pretty pissed at the end of the lecture. Schools can be so ridiculous. Oh and I swear all the time, it's great.
what the FUCK? thats fucking insane! man i wish they had an assembly like that in my school, just watch, i'd show them how much i respect their bullshit. this would be my face the whole time except more pissed-looking.
yeah they told the boys too, and they also came up with this thing where you MUST come dressed up to school on Fridays for girls and Wednesday's for guys. Fuck no, I'm not "dressing up" whatever that means to them, i'll dress just the way i like.
Are they even allowed to do this? I mean, I know schools can have uniforms and dress codes but can they tell you that you HAVE to dress up? I mean, what if your version of dressing up is being naked? Certainly is mine.
Dresssed up? You mean like for Halloween? Fun! You could seriously have some fun with this. "Dress up" in a tacky old prom dress or bride's maid dress from the thrift store.
I'd say write to newspaper, get people's attention, etc. this is sexist and discriminating and stupid if nothing else. get your friends who are against it to sign a petition. They can't do much to you for cursing, and even if they do you can always fight it, school isn't always the best plan anyway these days with public schooling, etc. curse more. dress boyish and butch. Don't wear make up. Cut your hair. Don't shave your legs.
Hahah yes, yes they are if someone in class swears and the teacher hears they could just tell them off, but they don't really go further than that. Maybe a lunchtime detention if its really bad. But I don't really swear much, sometimes if I'm really irritated at something Never at people though! I don't think could swear at someone...
i've never really thought of it as negative energy unless it's directed at someone (and i don't direct it at anyone), but when i drop something or walk into something (which i do alot) i'll swear but for me it's more like an impulsive release of negative energy and not meant to hurt in any way...you know? but i think i get what you're saying.
Yeah but, you can't tell someone they have to be "gentlemen-like" or "lady-like". I mean, what's next? Deciding what kind of music people are allowed to like, what their favorite color is? It may not be proper for a boy to like to color pink! The way I see it, they're just words. You don't want to hear them, don't listen. And no body is making you say them.
