Benzoyl peroxide or whatever will dry your skin tyhe fuck out.. Anyway, I'd say just use like plain antibacterial soap, like handsoap the orange stuff works fine. :D And witch hazel or rubbing alcohol to wipe it off regularly if it starts to get oily. :D The alcohol will be more drying, so whichever. And keep your hands and nails clean too. :D

Rubbing alcohol can often aggravate acne. There is a theory that using products "made for oily skin" that dry your skin out actually end up making it more oily over time, because your oil glands will overcompensate to make up for the lost oil.

Jojoba oil and using a gentle cleanser is what I recommend. Jojoba oil is best for all skin types, because it regulates oil production which can in turn help your oily skin be less oily, at a more normal level. It also helps to unclog pores. It worked for me better than any other product--whether prescription or OTC. And the best part is that it's all natural and incredibly gentle. I have found that drinking a lot of water helps too. Keep it simple and your skin will thank you.
If you want some more advice, the acne forum at healthboards.com is pretty resourceful.

Swimming daily in a chlorinated pool might help too. And I second the comment about keeping your hands clean - wash them every time you are near a sink! Also, don't touch your face at all with your fingers. Good luck!

i have found that the clean and clear advantage kit works pretty well, but if that doesnt work, then just go to the doctor and they can prescribe you some good pimple stuff

Tea Tree Oil is great for oily skin and acne. Dessert Essense is a brand that makes some great tea tree stuff and you can find it at most health food stores. Grapeseed extract is supposed to be good too.

If it's really bad go to a doctor and they can prescribe an oral medicine.

Take an extra shower a day with face wash stuff and, especially if it's your face, wash your hair!!

    witch hazel.
it's the holy grail of all facial products.

and, believe it or not, even oily faces need moisture. a lot of times over-drying creates a rut for oily-faced people -- you use products to dry the face, they work, but you never know because your face overcompensates by producing more oil.

so I'd go out and find some witch hazel. and a very lightweight moisturizer for at night, if nothing else.

I don't know you but I love you...upon seeing this thread I was just about to suggest witch hazel. It works perfectly and can clear up pimples pretty quickly. I was prescribed a cream that I have to put on the infected areas and wash off, sort of like proactiv, so you may want to try asking your doctor if there's anything he can give you. Just try not to use too much of anything.
