i dont know what else it would fit under http://www.watch-movies.net/movies/gummo/ click watch full tell me what you think
I saw this film a few years back, and it introduced me to the mind of Harmony Korine. It was quite possibly the darkest film i had ever seen. His previous film Kids, was my next korine film, equally dark and disturbing. Then, last year i came across Ken Park. Now i simply cannot watch korine's films without feeling somewhat disturbed afterwards. Ken Park is basically the same film as Gummo, only this time the focus is on middle class suburbia as opposed to an impoverished human wasteland. If you thought Gummo or any of his other films were extreme, just wait until you see Ken Park. I want to see Julien Donkey-Boy but cant muster up the courage to sit through another korine film. I respect and appreciate his extremist artistic expression, but cannot force myself to keep watching more of his films. I am flagged on Harmony Korine's fucked up mind lol Anyway from an artistic standpoint, i would give Gummo an 8/10 (minus 2 points for those poor cats and the down-syndrome whore-sister)
What a good review of it...great insight toker4emery. I just finished watching it and I can't really describe what I make of it. I basically said what? It seem dark and somewhat haunting...I was nearly always waiting for something real bad or fucked up to happen while I watched. It seems that, we the viewer, just missed the scene or were too late... I wish the different groups of people that the film follows were somehow tied in together...if they were I didn't pick up on it. Overall I thought it was something that I was not used to watching and it was quite enjoyable. Though, not the best movie I've seen (I don't think that was the goal of the movie) but also not a complete bore.
:] i havent watched any of his other films but im probably going to try to watch them sometime this week most of the things i can relate to i guess living in trailer parks i was friends with some pretty fucked up people & their parents remind me of most of the people, like the scene when they were beating up the chair i guess i just like how it takes you through emotions so fast and it doesnt ever get boring eddie i think that it kind of connects most of them in a way the girls cat and the boys the girls and the bunny hat boy but i like how it showed all the different things its an exciting movie that makes me feel real and other people seem more real i cant really explain the feeling it gives me but its the same feeling i get when i listen to cocorosie and most of their lyrics not from animals but some other songs are haunting and beautiful and some are fucked up most of them are like lyla is about a little girl that was kidnapped and they made her a prostitute and she ate mcdonalds all day long haha fiojapi its just woke me up, thats the best way i can describe it but it doesnt really fit yea im glad you liked it though :] <33
lmao!! its funny you mentioned that because when i watched it with my one friend (who was homeless at the time) he said that big hairy chest guy reminded him of his uncle. Then, a few days later, we went to his uncles place in this run down trailer park and sure enough, this guy was pretty much the same damn guy in the movie. Also, he had no table or chairs in the whole place. Also, there was a crackhead looking lady standing in the kitchen drinking a beer and she looked like that one in the movie. We got our bag and got the fuck out of there lol I told my friend we were never going back to that trailer park even if its our last resort, that place totally made me flash back to the movie and made me feel way too uneasy... especially after seeing a rusted steel barrel along the road filled with water :leaving: But anyway, that guy wrestling the chair is definitely the best scene in the entire movie also, if your gonna see another korine film, see Ken Park. Now that film is a mindfuck and a half. btw, cocorosie is some crazy music. i listened to adventures of ghosthorse and stillborn one time and i thought it was pretty good. im not totally sure how you can make a connection with it to gummo unless your talking about strictly lyrical connections. Every time i think of music and gummo, i think "i love my little rooster and my rooster loves me, gonna cherish my rooster by the green bay tree. little rooster goes cock-a-doodle-do-doodle-do" god that song is annoying lol
i love that rooster song! i had it in my head all this morning i lovee my little roosterrr that little bunny hat boy is such a badass i love him ahha but yea there are so many people like it its interesting though hahah the deaf people fighting was funny too for a whle but i dont know most of the movie just made me laughh yea i dont know i guess its just the beauty and haunting i cant explain it i love that song though!!!
My favorite part was when that little kid taped spoons, forks and knives together and started to lift them as weights in front of the mirror...his mom was acting crazy and he was oblivious to it...
I watched this movie a while ago, and it's a pretty disturbing movie yet interesting. I think its most haunting because its reality for some who live in places like the setting. Definitely something to watch if you have the time.
ok, i just had to say it: There was a girl from salt lake city 2-Quart legs and 2 rubber titties Loves electricity, but burns off gas Got a V8 pussy and a cadillac ass
HAHAHAHAH i love that i love the whole movie yea the weight part was great hah i liked how he was listening to madonna and his mom was all moving her head around all crazy i love that lady she was on crack or something
be warned- its like gummo times 10 and you will see graphic scenes of fucked up proportions prepare yourself with whatever necessary. i would just advise not to trip and watch
