hi to all hip forum members while you are reading this post i don't know how many Tamil civilians the srilankan army might have killed .i am an Indian but our government instead of peacekeeping giving technology and support to kill Tamil civilians for a revenge so i ask all you people to pray for the fate of tamil people living in srilanka
If the Tamil Tigers weren't killing so many Sri Lankan civilians in their terrorism campaigns, the Sri Lankans wouldn't be waging war against them. Peace is a two way street. One side can't put down their guns without the other side doing the same.

I see a lot of things in your links about the tamils fighting for freedom and independence, but do you think the Tamils would ever be happy under a repressive socialist government? That's what the Tigers are fighting for. The agenda is a marxist agenda to establish a new Communist state on the island. It's unforutate Tamil civilians are being killed in the conflict, but what of the Innocent civilians on the other side being killed in the Tiger's terrorist attacks? I see nothing at all about them in the artilces you linked to. Sri Lanka is at war and war is an atrosity for both sides. Let me elaborate on my point a little more. I'm not trying to downplay the atrocities being commited against the Tamil. It's tragic regardless of how you look at it. What I am saying is the Tamil Tigers are a dangerous group who are not interested in peace. Their goal is to carry out their marxist agenda on the island of Sri Lanka through violence or whatever other means they feel is necessary. A lot of these articles about human rights violations against the Tamil are blantantly pro-Tiger political pieces. The first two articles the links list above both sing glorious praises in support of the Tigers. The Tamil Tigers do not have an agenda of peace. Their sole objective is Marxist revolution by any means necessary. I agree with you dojodee, people should be praying for the Tamil people. The innocents caught in the crossfire of conflict deserve sympathy and all the help they can get. What I take issue with is support of terrorist organizations who want to spill blood instead of prventing it from being spilled.
from my initial posting itself i am not supporting Tamil tigers at all i am worried abt the Tamil civilians. in my city there is a refugee camp i had heard lots of sad stories of them .they had raped on guys sister in front of him and killed her brutally i am against that only .I am praying for a third party intervention to keep peace in srilanka and it should be neutral bcos lots of countries r biased towards srilankan government.most of the Tamil tigers were not terrorist they are forced to take weapons to save the Tamil people their sister and brothers for one more day so that they would live until for that great day of freedom and peace
The atrocities in Sri Lanka are tragic and I agree intervention is needed. Unfortunately I don't know what nation would be willing to provide that intervention. The UN seems recluctnat to get invovled and independent non UN nations seem reluctant as well. I'm not saying every Tamil Tiger is a terrorist or Marxist. Many are just as you describe, common downtrodden people who took up arms in their own defense. The organization as a whole however has a political agenda which is dangerous for people on both sides. That is my main objection. The Tamil victims have my sympathies.
Tamil AND Sri Lanka are both wrong. And in war innocent people get killed. I honestly don't believe Sri Lanka is killing Tamil children because they feel like doing so. I think it's in some sick kind of way revenge for what the Tamil Tigers did with innocent people from Sri Lanka? Think about it. War is for dumb people.
Wars not for dumb people its quite the opposite actually, to win a war you have to be a strategic genius and know what your doing. A dumb person certainly wouldnt win a war. Yea yea the conecpt of war is dumb, but its pretty much the same concept as a fight, in the end your either losing something or winning something, and if your innocent civilians are being attacked and killed youll be forced to fight back.
Which is why the Sri Lankan Gov't is fighting so hard against the Tigers and why the Tigers are in turn fighting against the Gov't. And thus the war continues...

A lot of people discount the very fact that obtaining peace is achieved by pro-actively participating in dialoguing and establishing a platform for discourse where advisory committees amongst the international political realm may come to conclusions about the future of a nation. You have to talk to your enemies or have a mediating country talk to them. By having a presence in your enemy's country, you can influence the direction in which a country will go. That is what peace talks are all about. Everyone sits down like civilized people before a war breaks loose and they go over progressive business strategies and try to find a compromise amongst the conflict. War is not totally inevitable, but at least with dialoguing with your enemies it shows that you're giving peace a chance.
Well regardless of what is going on there are innocent people that are being dragged into this and children who are suffering a well and I wish peace and love to all of them and to you to dojodee.
