To one and all. At first, I would like to apologize for possible grammar or other type of errors since the English is not my native language. I am from south-eastern Europe. I came to the US (Illinois) last year — after I graduated from high school in my country — in order to continue my education. I'm studying graphic design at the college of DuPage. I've been reading around couple of days since I registered and now I feel like it would be nice of me to introduce I-self to you guys. I don't consider I-self an hippie, but there is so much that I can relate to from what are you guys saying, doing, and standing up for. That's why I am joining your internet community. I love Music. It is the healing of I and I. I'm reggae song-writer and singer. I'm percussionist also. Big fan of rhythm. Other music types that I listen to, but not the only ones, are drum and bass, jungle, rap, classical.. I love Nature. I really do. If there are things I can say I worship — those things are Nature and Music. Hmm, what else.. I am vegetarian. I love Rasta way. And, I am not saying I am a Rastaman, because I do know what Rasta mean. I respect it too much to say something like that, that easy. I can say I am trodding to become. Not in terms of religion, because religion is not the thing I am into. I respect Rasta way as the way of life. And that is where I am going. (and I would ask you to, please, check this video out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdAXGmYRSlY and the rest of the "show". It will take 30-40 mins of your life bit it will tell you so much about me, because I can relate to the most of things this wise man is talking about. It will inform you about the ESSENCE of Rasta, in a different way. Trust me. If that's not motivating enough for you to take a look — then look it in the way: it is always time worthy to listen to a wise man) Basically, I am here to meet "open-minded" people, have fun, and spread positive vibrations. As I said, I'm "new-in-town".. I don't have many friends here.. It's hard to find open-minded people in disya time... So if there's anyone who wants to hangout or whatever.. Hit me up whenever. I'm in southwestern Chicago area (suburbs)... Around Willowbrook, Westmont.. intersection of 83 and 63rd street.. So.. I think that would be it for now. If you wanna know something more, just ask. Looking forward to talk with ya guys here. Irie! Lovefull Heights!
Your post caught my attention with the words Irie Such a lovely word you seem like a pretty down to earth person hope you enjoy hipforums and if you ever need anything or wanna talk you can always message me. until then irie & peace & love
@piaf I'm a Serbian neighbour. Thank you for welcoming. Or - Hvala na dobrodošlici. @Ghost lyric I-self comes from Rastafarian vocabulary.. As a part of "I and I concept".. Essentially, what they're doing is - they don't use (or tend not to use often) words like "me", "you".. as divisive. Instead of "I" or "me", they would often say "I and I" which symbolically represents the unity (I-nity) of all people.. Oneness. It also reffers to the Inity of human and Nature.. or human and God.. as one wish. In following Rasta path, you're pretty much free to develop your own system of perceiving apstract things.. As long as you are following Rasta way of life, which follows Nature's steps, through Love and Inity. Often they would also use "I-man" instead of "I" or "me".. Or "the-I" instead of "you". Cause YOU are ME. And ME is YOU. WE are I and I. I would once again suggest that you take some time and look at the show that I posted in my first post on this thread.. It will explain some important things. You can find some informative things at this wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rastafarian_vocabulary but they relate it to a religion too much.. I would rather recommend watching the show instead. Stay Irie! Lovefull Heights!
welcome irie fella! :] yea i didnt hear the i and i thing until now either, but im gonna watch that video ive never really heard too much about rastafarians but it sounds beautiful :] you seem interesting! <3 love & light
give thanks snakes grass! @kansas Lots of people have prejudice towards Rastafarians as stoners who do nothing but get high. And that way of perceiving Rasta way is much further from the truth than the one would think. Because the purpose of Rasta way is much higher than that. It is pure Love. That's the main reason why I'm pointing on that video. Yes, herb is used, but with respect and for meditational and inspirational purposes.. Not as a drug. You don't wanna waste Igh (high) feeling. Remember, the one can be junkie even if the herb is the only thing he is using. It's all matter of approach. It is ALL in your head. When you realise that, your awakening can begin... Give thanks and praises to the Herb - beautiful child of Mother Nature Love&Inity
aw i know what you mean as soon as you talk about it people immediately thing GANJA but i dont know much about it but from what i do know it seems nice wasting is bad and yea most of the time when i get high i try to be productive i think about things all the way through and lightly it makes everything easier to deal with and other possible ideas for the future to be anyways yea i hope you find some people here in america to connect with <3 love and light to you
