The truth is is that God is an Anarchist! Listen to some of these verses. The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over the people; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves ‘Benefactors.’ But you are not to be like that. Luke 22:25 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a 'den of thieves'". Matthew 21:12-13 So basically God is saying to not listen to the government, for they shall only corrupt you. And when the marketers were selling material goods in the Temple, he literally turned their booths and stalls over and yelled at them, to GET OUT. If I can find my other Bible I'll add more. But I'm just saying that with most government, God is not satisfied. Peace =]
This is the same Jesus that said "Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's and unto God the things that are God's"???....First off you're taking your exmple completely out of context with the text you quoted. The point was to clean the temple, not overthrow the government!...add to that the scriptures you'll find where belivers are mandated to pray, etc, for the higher authorities(governments) and you don't exactly wind up with a God advocating anarchy. Sorry, try again!
If your gonna use Christianity then I'm gonna guess that you are christian. I believe strongly in Anarchy because it is the inevitable. Anarchy lies in all monotheistic religions, Christianity actually being the least. In the Quran the Almighty tells of the destruction of many people and out of them rose new nations, better nations. One example that Christians and Muslims can follow is Soddom & Gomorah, their state became so conceited it lost all its values and had to be destroyed. Whatever works for you eh, just make sure you think of anarchy along the way.
actually whilst lots of Christian books do endorse praying for government authorities, the bible doesn't explicitly support the state. It makes clear that one owes one's loyalty to god, not to the state. As evidenced by the "render unto Caesar" quote. It's saying pay no attention to the emperor and his political interests, focus on living the spiritual life. I'm not a Christian Anarchist, but plenty of people are, have a read around. And I personally reject the "worshipping god is unanarchist because god is an authority" argument. It's a non-sequitur similar to claiming that it is unanarchist to obey the laws of physics.
"There is an invisible man up in the sky and there are ten things he does not want you to do and if you do these things you will burn in purgatory for ever and ever... ...but he loves you and his disciples want all your money." Yeah, that's Anarchic...
There is nothing specifically unanarchic about supernatural beliefs, and anarchist christians reject the church and hierarchy, so your statement about disciples and money is palpably false in this regard. In logic it is referred to as a Straw Man fallacy I believe, where you construct a false representation of an opposing view, and criticise your false version rather than their actual beliefs This is just a polite suggestion, but your opinions might carry a bit more weight if you took the time to study what Anarchist Christians believe and practice, and then laid out a coherent critique based on that, rather than just falling back on snide and misinformed comments.
