I think it's that time of year again Something of a forum tradition, for those who don't know, each year we nominate forum members in a number of categories and those with the most votes in each category get a special prize of £500. Actually no they don't, but they do get the pleasure of knowing that they won! So this thread is for you to suggest categories for this year's forum awards! Once we have the categories settled we'll start the voting by private message and then announce the winners. Some traditional categories to get us started off: Mr UK Forum Miss UK Forum The Sarah Palin Award for Best Newcomer Boris Johnson Award for Best Returning Poster Ken Dodd Special Prize for Funniest Forumer Best Foreign Poster in the UK Forum Over to you! Does anyone want to volunteer to help count up the votes?
The Noel Edmonds Commemorative Straitjacket for forumer most likely to climb a clocktower with an automatic rifle and start shooting indiscriminately into the crowd
I can help out if you want too. And we had the Blue Peter award for youngest poster last year (ME! ) How about the "The Most Arr! Me hearties, The Best Pirate Poster for incorrect use of the English grammar such as the subjunctive verb used with nouns in the imperfect tense. " You'd have to tweak it a bit, if you decide to put it in, because I don't actually know what it quite means.
Oooh I have just thought of a few good ones! Although people would probably not like nominating anyone for them
Grammer Granny of course Pete Doherty Award for the most often wasted Bad penny award for returning poster Best newcomer
Oh and The Finnaz award for worst poster to disappear off the face of the earth (I mean best of course)
Problem with that is it's only an award that can be collected in absentia.. Erm.. Hoover award for most drugs taken in one sitting? I dunno, I'm crap at these..
The Barack Obama Award For Most Liberal Poster The Gordon Brown Award For Most Serious Poster The Will Self Award For Most Eloquent Poster
The Joerg Haider Award for couldn't have happened to a nicer fellow... Erm, ok, maybe not... Last couple of years the Boris Johnsson award went to right wing bastards we liked, but the name's taken this year, and I like him much less in a position of power. So how about... The George W. Bush Award for you're a right wing bastard but you have comic potential....
