Yeah it's pretty sweet alright. Been enjoying Chile's cabernet sauvignon more than anything else of late...As far as wine goes anyway. Not the biggest fan of Rose though, I go for red 99% of the time
I do rather enjoy a tipple. Red, Rose or White, although I do have a preference for red. Particularly Australian Shiraz.
Well I found one I really like. I'm not into that whole bitter tastes like vinegar thing that some reds get. I tried a couple different Merlots and decided maybe that wasn't the one for me then I tried this one called a Malbec. I actually found it at the Tesco Express (but oddly not at the big Tesco store) it was on offer for £4 so I figured couldn't go too wrong. I usually buy the cheap priced wines cos just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's good and just cause it's cheap doesn't mean it's crap. or something. So so far, in my looking that one is my fave. It's an Argentinian Aguila Estate Malbec (which I'd never heard of before). But it's smooth and not bitter. I don't do the whole "legs", "smell", "colour" thing really so I'm no expert but I figure if you try it and you like it that should be enough. You have a particular Cab you like? Obviously different vineyards give a much different taste.
I am a sweet wine type I am not big on dry and bitter. I am in llove with a good Miscato Di Asti, Bisstollio is my favorite but I sure would not turn down a Pio Cesar they run between $15 -$50; they are sweet smooth and a little sparklie. Just an all around great white wine. I am also a fan of a good apple wine though I haven't found one in about 3 years. Ther is one cheap Marlot I really like it is called Wild Vines Blackberry Marlot it is the perfect blend of sweet and sour but it has to be reallt cold same goes for a Miscato Di Asti. Buy the way Martini Rossi Asti Spumante is crap (taste like dirt to me) compared to the Miscatos I have mentioned.
oh? i always loved Martini & Rossi Asti. I'm suprised you think it tastes like dirt I always thought it was much sweeter and nicer than other brands I'd tried. I may have to look and see if they have that Wild Vines Blackberry Merlot over here. I liked one Merlot I tried a bit, but then I tried this Australian one and I ended up pouring out all but 2 glasses of the bottle (both of which I only had a few sips of on two different occasions hoping I could make myself get used to it).
It is not that I hate it I was mainly compairing it to the Miscato Di Astis I usually drink Believe me if one of my favs was not available I would drink that before most of the others here. The Wild Vine is like $3.59 a bottle for a small bottle $9 for a big bottle it is really cheap but good had a small bottle last night. I will try and remember to look and see who produces it and let you know in this thread if I forget just pm me.
I just opened a bottle of Australian Shiraz, it's called "Lost Sheep" from M&S. Going down very nicely. 14.5%, oh dear.
