Is this worth taking? I have a few Darvocet-N 100's but not sure on the dosage. I've checked erowid and all experiences are mixed with something else. Any help would be appreciated.
well its an opiate.. so it is probably good. ive never personally taken darvocet.. just be careful man.. if you take opiates without any opiate tolerance.. you can get seriously wasted/fucked up.. so just try a little bit at first, to determine the strength of the pill. most people end up OD'ing because they dont know how strong opiates can actually be. just a friendly warning, so try a little, then work your way up. or wait a little bit.. im sure someone here will know about darvocet. and can probably tell you alot more on the buzz, ect. EDIT: dextropropoxyphene is commonly used to ease the withdrawal symptoms in people addicted to opioids. Being very weak in comparison to the opioids that are commonly abused, dextropropoxyphene can only act as a "partial" substitute. It does not have much effect on mental cravings; however it can be effective in alleviating physical withdrawal effects, such as muscle cramps. it appears to be weaker then most opiates.. but it should probably get you a nice buzz if you dont usually take any opiates
Darvocet is one of the weakest, if not THE weakest opiates on the market. Don't expect anything more then a little head rush that feels like you are kinda dizzy, and pain relief to the extent of taking Ibuprofen. Taken from the Wiki: Taking too much to try and catch a buzz can be MUCH more harmful then taking more potent opiates, like Oxycodone/Hydrocodone, because of the fact that it has paracetamol (acetaminophen) that is obviously toxic in high enough doses. By the time you are able to catch a buzz from Darvocet, you will be in the hospital from overdosing on the Tylenol within it. If you have NEVER taken opiates before, you MIGHT catch a decent buzz, but if you don't, don't continue to take more, just cut your losses and call it a night, because it's not a strong opiate so you shouldn't expect much.
Even if you don't take opiates, they're pretty useless. I took 700mg's worth and felt tired and angry later on lame. Not worth it. d-propoxyphene and in fact racemic propoxyphene suck. =(
its somewhat toxic via ita metabolites, a nasty med that should have been banned long ago.Just toss them, not worth it IMHO.
Yeah Darvocet is one of the weakest opiate out there but it still is a opiate and if you have no tolerance they will have a effect at least they did with me. Just be careful not to take to many at once due to the high amounts of aspirin in them.
Damn I would have taken them you got to look at it that their better than nothing. I guess if you have a high tolerance it is like nothing. To me two Oxycodone 5mg immediate release has me feeling great not nodding out or anything but still very good
You probably should have done them just to see. I have done plenty of opiates and still get a nice euphoric feeling with darvocets. I've chewed five and have felt a very strong high throughout the day and I've done hydros, oxys, suboxones, percs, ultracets, morphines, codienes, and smoked opium.
I agree no sense in trashing them they work great for headaches and minor aches and pains better than taking plain old aspirin
Exactly what I'm trying to say. Not everyone has through the roof tolerance. If they don't get you high, then so be it. It's like you just took an extreme laxative or smoething. lol
Then why did you tell him to take them because there was a chance he could have had a buzz? If he caught a buzz from it, surely people could see it.
Well because i had thought at first that he had more than 2. Plus he didnt say anything about a roomate or an ra in the op. Obviously he wouldnt have gotten a buzz from 2. But he could have saved them for a headache. Oh well.
Also, you said you aren't new to opiates...so how have you gotten away with it in front of your roommate and RA before? Does your RA constantly come by your room and look at your pupils or something? Why would your roommate have something to say about it...you guys are in college, it's all about experimentation. You could just tell both of them you have a prescription, anyways. Every RA I have seen was really cool about stuff, though, because it IS college. Do you go to a really uptight religious college or something?
Just what I was thinking. If its his script, why would it matter? They're his pills under his name. Why would the ra or especially a roomate care?
Why are you still talking about Propoxyphene? I can't believe people actually get high from it. Sillyness. But everyone is different. I mean seriously though. 700mg's and nothing. Lawl. But hell if I were you I'd of taken them to see if they did anything anyway, and just not expected much of anything (if I had never tried them before).
Well I have a whole bottle of them, but I only brought 2-3 with me to my dorm. Everything I've ever heard about them has been "don't bother" or "not worth it." And CWE doesn't work. Unless anyone knows any different? That'd be sweet. I go to a Christian Liberal Arts College. It's not that they would notify the school board or anything but I would get an earful. And it's a dorm, space is a commodity and you have to get creative with places to hide.
