Ok ive ha my dreads for 14 days now. And i have a question.
I want to know is it normal for some dreads to tighten first then others. Because i have a few dreads that i can really feel tghtening. But others still feel kinda loose is that normal.

And another say you dreads are locked i really want to know how the new hair that grows out the root lock up if its coming out normal ive always wanted to know that??

yeah its very normal for dreads to lock up at different times and speeds. just leave em. dont palm roll, palm rollingis the most over rated thing you can do, its a waste of time.

i dont know how dreads lock up at the roots but they do and remember its normal to have up to 1 inch of undreaded hair .
    just be patient

    but
if ya look at the 1st example u see the haird lock together facing every which way chaoticlyu
the haurs from the scalp come out of the scalp straight but the hairs comming pout of the dread come out at all kinds of craxzy angles

as new growrth occursstraight hairs are pushed into this area with hairs criss crossing randomly and knots occurr
dreads happen because 1 knot causes other knots to stack yp onto p of em
if u have a loose strand that doesnt wanna dread, tie a knot in the end and wait and see if more and more knots dont form from there

part of it could be that once u have a knotthe hairs going onto that knot are ineven in lemngth then since hair tends to grow fairly evenly the differences in lengths caise 1 hair to loop more then anothrer and knotting occurs morte lopps become intrrtwined causing more uneveness and they just start to wind around eachother in complex chaotic patterns
ofcourse these are just theoroes based on what i know of dresad structures and really are unimportant
all u need to know is it happens on its own

just call it..the will of the dread..

i was concerned about the same exact thing. it just happens. so weird, but it will happen on it's own, and will even round off as well. that's what i've experienced with my new growth. some dreads have longer undreaded parts near the roots, but they will eventually change and get knotty.

    Honestly man:) Dont worry :)
I worry but then think if I wanted to go for an instant hair style I would have gone back to my Beatles cut LMAO
The one closest to my eye on my right is soo tight, it just takes care of itself, so do some others, but theres some that feel looser than when I first backcombed them!
    It takes time :)
    Hold out :)
