If i told you that God came and died for you and now waits to link you to all the awesome power of the universe will you pray with me and ask for a devine showing of his truth?

Yes or no question if they say yes then you know God is going to do his part.

If they say no you know god is going to do his part.

Wees small small in the sum of it all.

So I would decline, and not try to convert the person.
If I was forced to I might say, " I believe cuz I have seen a whole pile of freaky shit in my life that science doesn't have a hope of explaining, and I'll tell you about them if you want."

Why is it that childish people feel the need to come in here and make stupid comments like that? Does it make you feel special? Did mommy and daddy not love you enough as a child?

The thing is, you can't convert someone. There won't be a phrase, or an action. Conversion has to do with conviction. Someone has to be convicted in their own heart before they decide to repent and give their lives to God. Just like an apology. Someone's conscience has to convict them before they feel sorry for something they have done. You can make them aware of the wrong doing, but you cannot make them feel remorse.

Yay Epiphany! Finally something we can agree on! I had people trying to convert me for so long before I finally really took Jesus into my heart. And I "tried" to be Christian a couple of times when they tried to convert me, maybe just to make them happy, maybe because I knew something was missing but couldn't quite bring myself to actually commit to it yet. But I had to do it all myself, and man, it was quite the experience when I finally did :)

Glad to hear your experience was amazing, CoOkiezGurl :). You're right. The whole idea of forcing someone to do something will only backfire in the end. There are unsaved people in my life that I love, and granted, I will still pray about it, and I will still talk to them about Christ, but that's all that I can do. That is all that anyone can do.
