i really tried being a vegetarian because i love animals, but its just not in my blood not to eat meat
Only if they ask. Then I tell the truth of course. Or tell them to keep their beak out, depending on circumstance and whos asking. I wont randomly bring it up with anyone unless its part of natural conversation
I only bring it up if I'm offered something I can't eat. Although I've been known to mention it to someone in the checkout line with me. "You know, (gazing at their choices) thats more meat than I've eaten in over 25 years." Conversation follows. x
yeah....i work in a kitchen so...i get questions about it all the time.....so yeah only if i'm asked though....
I'm open about it. Have a couple pro veggie T shirts. I have to meet people over lunch in my job, so it ALWAYS comes up. Plus at Job 2 I'm the resident "expert" (g-d help them) on feeding Kosher, veg and vegan.
I just say that I am picky...whether I was eating veggie or not, I was always picky. Now I work in a cafeteria with guest coming in from all over the world. If I assume a guest is from India then I will ask if they are vegetarian before giving them something that has animal fat in it and it drives me nuts if a co-worker puts food on the guest's plate that isn't totally veggie.
people here [eastern montana] are always offering you food if they know you cook so i tell them all the time since my karma/morals are mine, and theirs is theirs, if meat is offered i will eat it it is rude to refuse a gift, wrong to waste food plus, i didn't kill it or pay for it but i do let them know, so they won't hate all vegans ["he was polite and ate my venison chili anyways"] and so they won't do it again
