I'm going to vote... its better than doing nothing. I feel that if someone doesn't vote, they don't have much room to bitch and moan and whine because they didn't do anything to help. Besides, it doesn't hurt to vote.
I'm trying to start a band which would try and bring these issues to attention and maybe get a few people to realize that things don't get done by a few people complaining but by thousands of people taking action. "the system is set, you never change it with a ballot pull" - Zach de la Rocha True words there, but change will come if people do more than just stand at a voting machine and expect change.
I agree if you try to vote for Nater or a liberal who will try to make changes your vote will not count for anything because they will only get 3% or some insignificant number. Hmmm. Which puppet would I rather have too see for 4 years Obama or Hilary? Well Hilary looks like an old hag who spend 2 hours a day on makeup and has to eat handfuls of Prozac before each meeting so I’m going with Obama. And when someone does try to make significant changes they usually are put down very quick, they are just puppets playing in a system all ready designed. The system will tolerate some minor cosmetic changes but nothing major. I remember when Clinton was going into office and all the hippies raved that he was from a poor family that did drugs and he smoke pot himself and the war on drugs will be over when he gets in. More people were arrested for drug possession then ever before and drug war funding skyrocketed when Clinton was in office. Every 4 years people go on and on “if they get in office this will all change blablabla” 4 years later same old shit just bigger. I still think positive and think we will see positive changes. I don’t have faith in the system but I do have faith in this generation and the next generation and think our world will become a better place.
well you have to evaluate that yourself. no matter what happens hundreds of billions of american tax payers money will be sent to israel whilst the government deny their own people health care , perhaps this should guide your voting choice the next time you get sick. perhaps watching a film like "sicko" might help you. first you need to work out who you should not vote for.
While I really do hope this revolution happens, I wonder if it'll ever really happen. I mean, people are talking about it, but so what? They're just talking. Or people argue that the downfall will "just happen". How? Why? I'm worried most that this won't happen. if it doesn't, no one will ever open their eyes again.
I think that this "revolution", this "apacolypse" or whatever you want to call it, will indeed be a positive thing. Sure, change is scary, but change is good. Humans are one of the best if not the best species at adapting to change. This revolution, this downfall of soceity will hopefully bring down the tyrannical leaders and change the world for the better.
I grew up with the danger of nuclear war. That danger, while still present, is less likely. The problems now are the growth of the human population and the greenhouse effect. Fortunately, the birth rate is declining. Alternatives to fossil fuels are being developed. The question is: will this happen quickly enough?
I think the downfall of society is going to happen (hopefully) in this generation, this time. Its all coming to a head and its only a matter of time before it pops. Look at the war, the staged elections, the coming of 2012, the enviroment, the Age of Aquarius... its all building up to the grand finale.
Yes, particularly when hearing about the current financial markets. I feel like I don't wanna listen to the news or read a newspaper anymore.
Maybe we should all find the true meaning of our own life and heart, and become spiritually grounded and protective of the soul. I think every time enlightenment happens in a person society changes a bit more.
agreed. Sure, I keep up to date with what's going on, but I don't let it consume me. I don't let it bother me or affect me in my life.
Sometimes I feel like I need to detach from the world around me in order to stay sane. I think we can all get caught up too much with all the shit that goes with living in the modern world.
Myself when young did eagerly frequent Doctor and saint, and heard great argument About it and about, but ever more Came out by the same door as in I went. -- Khayyam
