I wouldnt know from personal experience...but my ex boyfriend has had dreads for almost 14 years and thats all he's ever used....it never bleached his hair and in fact he uses baking soda for everything....hair, body, teeth, clothes its kinda weird....he swears by it.

baking soda is fine for your hair and no bleaching..If you go and buy some arm and hammer baking soda it even recommends on the back adding 1T of baking soda to your shampoo weekly to keep your hair fuller and more manageable. So its not just a dready thing, give people some duck tape and baking soda and they can do anything I guess.

baking soda has been used for a very long time for all kinds of things. It's kinda like a one of those all in one cure alls for all your cleaning needs. It's completely natural and works great.

i would think if you mix baking soda with acv they would cancel each other out, being an alkaline and an acid. i would use the baking soda with water and then rinse out with vinegar and water, that way you get the full benefits of each but they still become balanced in the end...i could be wrong though.

I've been using it every few days on my hair for maybe 8 months now, it works beautifully and keeps my hair clean and somehow soft... without hindering the locking process. It's great stuff. I also use it to wash my face, it's good for that too. Haven't noticed any bleaching yet, my hair is red naturally and has grown brighter red through the months, but hasn't faded or anything.

i've never mixed it with acv, just used it as part of the super cleanse mix, and it works a treat, my dreads and scalp feel much better after a good soak in the mixture

How often can one use baking soda? Im considering skipping the bronners and just using baking soda; researching it has got me really intrigued by its many uses haha, but yeah how often would I be able to use it instead of some kind of shampoo? I work a pretty physical job mon-fri that leaves me sweating and feeling as if my hair needs washed. Would it be ok to use it every time i shower after work?

Go for it, that's what I do. I use it every few days because I work in a bakery and all that grease just gets everywhere.

So when just using baking soda, do you just apply it directly to yor head or do you mix with water somehow then apply? Ive used the deep cleanse but never baking soda by itself.

I mix it with water first and then pour it on my head a little at a time
