I have been pregnant beofre but that was almost 3 years ago. I really havent had this happen before..Is it possible to make milk without being pregnant. Something came out of my nipple today. wtf is going on?
From what I know, if it truly is milk coming out it should come out of both, if that's the case it's just an imbalance of horomones. If it only comes out of one I would see a doctor/gyno.
You can excrete a colostrum like substance from both or one nipple with no problems. Many womyn who have been pregnant (especially if they have breastfed) can have milk formation for months and years on and off after their baby weans. A prolactin "imbalance" would accompany "copious" milk production, lack of ovulation, inability to become pregnant and other symptoms, and is detectable with a test which can test your resting prolactin. I would wait until you are having problems, not just a few drops here and there, before going to the expense of a prolactin test. I still leak on occasion. Sage has been weaned since March or April. I leaked for years after my last baby before her weaned. Usually at certain times of the month, after or during a breast exam. Some womyn will leak a little after rough breast play during sex. It is almost always nothing to worry about. If the discharge is black or bloody, call a doctor. If it is white, yellow, clear ot amber, don't worry about it.
I know sometimes my sister milks, she's never been pregnant. I wouldn't worry about it at all, as the other ladies here have said
It's really sweet and kind of gamey tasting. Tastes nothing like cow milk. Most adults tend to not like it.
Yep that would be my feances fault lol...I'll go let him know he eatehr needs to stop sucking or he needs to buy me some breast pads( just kidding)
If you'll accept a male perspective? I've heard of it happening. One woman I heard of, had a breast augmentation done. Ever since she lactates. (This was on HBO not long ago.)
I gave birth to my twins almost a year and a half ago, and yet I still leak a little breast milk at times out of nowhere, or my hubby will get a little bit of it when he's sucking me. Course, that could very well be why I still have it. Sucking promotes lactation. My OB/GYN said that it's not uncommon to have that happen, even for years, after giving birth/pregnancy. Peace.
Making milk without pre...10-07-2004 10:35 PMwhy are you still here? just to bother you, thanks for asking. Maybe one day you can stop being a coward and actually put a name on there.
As I just read through the entire thread I had to comment on the tasting of human milk. When I was breastfeeding, my hubby wanted to try my milk. I felt kind of weird abut it, but I figured what the heck. He said it had a nice, sweet taste. He liked it. I had never tried any of my own milk, I mean, I don't know, it just kind of made my stomach turn. That probably sounds stupid, but I just couldn't do it. Peace.
