what do you all think about this flu shot shortage in the U.S.? i know i saw videos on the news of people lined up two blocks down the street, waiting in line 4 to 5 hours and then half were turned away.

I know there are certain stipulations (are they inforced?), for who gets a flu shot.... (even some of those people are being turned away).

i personally want to get a flu shot pretty bad for my own reasons but i doubt ill be able to.

i think its bad that theres a shortage, though i dont' feel i need one, but for the people who need them its bad. but for me, i could care less if i get sick, i'll worry about it then.

I've lived in a house with close to 30 people. At any time atleast six people were sick and/or had lice. I've never had lice and I don't get sick I think I've become immune, but I don't know how I dcould be immune to lice so that didn't make sense

I am petrafied of getting the flu shot. I haven't gotten one and I don't plan on it. I heard last year a lil' boy died after getting it. I also know of many people getting VERY sick after getting it.

I know when there is a shortage people will make a bigger deal out of it even when they don't need one. There are many people that don't need it however I know there are many that do. For the ones that don't they should let the ones that do have the access. This is my opinion.

Children with allergies who could die without the shot, they should be first in line to get the shot. Anyone who is in a life/death situation I believe the shot is reserved for them. I could be wrong. That is how it is at my chidren's doctors office.

    Again, this is my opinion.

I do not get flu shots, it is no garuantee that you will not get the flu

as there are usually 3-4 strains going around at any one time.

a small number of people will get the flu from the shot

in fact my friend received the shot last year and he got the flu from it....haha

Isn't it funny how people think getting the flu injected straight into their blood stream will in some way help them not get the flu

how it works is when you are infected with a virus once and it goes away you are immune to it. so if it is given to you in a vaccene form (a very weak version of the virus) you get over it quickly and easily and become immune.

I prefer not to get shots like these, as they ultimately only weaken my own immune system...

    I don't take vaccines.

I did have the opportunity to get one, but I didn't. I am healthy anyway. I haven't gotten sick in over two years. I eat fairly healthy and take lots of vitamins and herbal supplements.

I have done enough research on vaccines to know that they're not safe. They are downright DANGEROUS! For one, they're loaded with mercury, which is found in the thimerosal that is used as the preservative in vaccines.

Secondly, live viruses have turned up in these vaccines over the years, including cancer viruses. Of course the American public has not been advised of this through the mainstream media.

The only reason I would take a vaccination is if I was on my death bed and had a severely weakened immune system.

I rarely take medicine, get shots and such, yet I have no allergies and rarely get sick... So I see no point in throwing strange chemicals and things into the mix... At the moment my immune system seems to be pretty rockin'! :p I guess I don't have any actual proof, but I can tell when I start to get sick, and hardly ever does it go beyond the initial knowing I'm about to get sick stage. Plus, when I come in contact with the flu, and develop an immunity, it's to an actual 'wild' strain rather than something created in a lab...
Like you said, for some people it's a life and death matter, so I'll take my chances with it, and leave the vaccine to those who need it. :)

I love my parents because, long long ago, they signed paperwork waiving me of any vaccines throughout school. So I've never had a shot, unless you count novocaine shots in my gums at the dentist. There's always a few people that absolutely freak out when they find out that I've never been vaccinated. They're what I live for.

Saying there's a shortage is psychological warfare of sorts. By saying or creating a shortage, they're creating a bigger demand from the public to get one. More people will be worked up and more people will be lining up to get one. Ya won't see me standing in line. The "flu shots" for the public are what "anthrax vaccines" are for the military. Just another way for the goverment to inject people with one thing with one thing when in reality it's something almost completely different. They dont do it in all cases, rough estimates put it at 10% of the vaccines aren't just vaccines. Read up on what's happening to people after recieving either. Doing more than just preventing the flu. The g-men are using it's soldiers and citizens as guinea pigs.
