I think I have a torn meniscus. (Self diagnosed) It's been about 6 months and it's much better now. I don't want to have a Dr. prodding me knee so I just pampered it the last few months. It still pops if I stand up using just that one leg but it's much better and nearly normal. I think I'll just have to baby that side for a while.
Skating a halfpipe. My board wasnt coming down right, so I jumped off and landed sideways going down the ramp. Didnt fall and it probably didn't even look like it hurt. But the sideways pressure it put on my knee really fucked it up I think. Could it be that it was already weak? Its given me problems running, snowboarding, and for the record I was pretty brutal on my body with all that stuff when I was younger especially.
definitely could have already been in a weak state beforehand. its really hard to say what could be the problem though...the knee is a pretty complex joint...i'd hazard a guess and say you did something to your MCL. but if it swells up and you can't walk and the swelling doesn't subside...i'd find some way to get it checked out by a doctor
I think its subsided to a degree already but it is hard to tell. And I'm walking better than 2 days ago, but it still feels completely fucked Hopefully it is just a sprain. It hurt right away but I kept riding until the park closed at dark, probably 2 hours later. So if something was torn I doubt that would have been possible. Hopefully.
I was playing some casual street football. Someone ran into my knee from the side when I had it turned. Funny I always worried about hurting it weight lifting and I end up doing it goofing around. Actually it took about 2 months and it was good enough to jog on again. I think I rushed it though. I sprinted about 200 yards and it was sore for 2 months again. So now I'm just babying it for a while. It's completely unnoticeable doing normal daily things. Only excessive use makes it noticeable. I actually worked out my legs last night fairly heavy and it performed well and isn't sore at all today. I'm avoiding squats for the rest of the year, but I think I'll be able to go back to that soon now. The problem is that there is no blood flow to your meniscus so it doesn't heal well.
