You didn't have a problem supporting Russia's ethnic cleansing of Georgians, more than likely you didn't even know about it.

    excerpt,
During the war, the Abkhaz separatist side carried out full scale ethnic cleansing campaign which resulted in the expulsion of up to 250,000 ethnic Georgians and more than 15,000 killed. [1][2][3] The ethnic cleansing of Georgians has been recognized officially by the OSCE conventions of Lisbon, Budapest and Istanbul (also mentioned in UN General Assembly Resolution GA/10708). [4][5]

    excerpt,
    War in Abkhazia

    Main article: War in Abkhazia
The conflict involved a 13-month long Abkhazian war, beginning in August 1992, with Georgian government forces and militia made of ethnic Georgians who lived in Abkhazia on one side and Russian-backed separatist forces made of ethnic Abkhazians, Armenians and Russians who also lived in Abkhazia on the other side. The separatists were supported by the North Caucasian and Cossack militants and (unofficially) by Russian forces stationed in Gudauta.

I like Russia, and they still have a good military so they'd probably win.
I do however fear China to be the new all powerful and threatening... that would not be a pretty fight.

    Hi!

I am interested by a theme of your discussion because I live in Russia.
I do not understand absolutely why someone in USA wants war with Russia.
It is necessary for you? It is not necessary for me.

But I know, that it is necessary for all of us. We need to be spoken with each other, to learn each other, and to try to understand each other. I am not right?

    "I am not right?"

    You are right.
    That is what we do.
    We hold press confrences.
    Endless ones it seems.

I think gardener is daydreaming here.

    To answer the question.
    No.

Siberia1975, nobody wants a war, it's clear. But, unfortunately, there are many people, who doesn't understand, what they are doing. Like authors of this one. Do you think, they doesn't want war too?

The US government needs to stop bullying nations into submission, there is no use for a missile shield in Poland except to undermine Russia's nuclear and missile deterrents. I remember Russia offered one of its old soviet bases to be renovated and used for the proposed US missile shield and they refused..
So I doubt Iran is the reason for a missile shield, besides they're surrounded by Coalition forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.

As for the Georgian conflict, Georgian troops would have continued massacring south Ossetians if Russia hadn't stepped in.

f*ck the russians, i wish the worse for their nation and especially Putin's regime. How anyone can condemn the Invasion of Iraq but then apologize and justify the Invasion of Georgia i dont understand, other than they do not have room in their minds for more than one empirially bent nation. Sort of like how some praise Iran, Cuba and Venezuala simply because they are anti-american while ignoring the real tyrannies those nation face within their own borders. However i would say i don't think war between the u.S. and Russia would be the smarter course. What with all the nukes and all...
