I just want it to be something my nephew can give to his kids if he ever has any. that will bring him joy, and be the coolest show and tell ever.

Same here. Playable investments. Kids these days and their baggy chinos and hippity-hop music, with their Hyundota Priuvicantras. Why spend money on a car. Aftermarket stuff is nice, cheaper to a point, when the car gets older, loss of slight power. Don't mind some BBS rims and an intake, but quite honestly... I have $30 till next Thursday. At least already got groceries.

The brass is going to be used as binding...? Bone.. and especially Brass will add killer tone and does wonders with balancing out uneven or unique body shapes.

I've actually been overthinking the neck, I wanted to make it so he could break it down like a traveling guitar, but there are better more tried ways to do that. I need to reexamine that part of the plan.

Prince is an underrated, great guitarist. Along with people like Neil Schon from Journey. Lot of people forget that era of guitar-work. John McLaughlin, Pat Metheny, Al DiMeola, Larry Carlton. (Lots of people who Clapton picks to play at the Crossroads festivals)

Some of Prince's roadies and guitar techs who worked on those were on another forum I used to post on.

That gets really complicated. Neck is the most important. Modern C-shape (modern Fender strat or Rickenbacker shaped neck) seems to be a big thing with younger players, especially females. A lot of younger people like flat sort of radiuses and shapes, like the newer Ibanez and Charvel/Jacksons, Schecters.

Personally, I like a low-profile V... 22 fret is okay, but prefer a 24. If I ever got around to designing or building something for myslef, it would either have dot inlays on the binding and nothing on the fretboard, or Chet Atkins syle inlays. Jerry Garcia's banjo inlays (builder was Doug Irwin, of Alembic) were some of the most unique inlays I've ever seen.

Tiger [replicated by Resurrection guitars]. One of the first later-era known "handbuilt original customs"... was Garcia's longest-played guitar.

I actually really like Prince a lot. Saw him in concert a couple of years ago, was one of the best concerts I have ever been too.

Never seen prince, but I hear that quite a bit.

The superbowl did a lot for his credibility.
