Did anyone ever feel different as a kid? I always felt different from the other kids but I never new why really. Lately I have been accepting the fact that I am gay, and it just occured to me that is why I felt different. So did anyone else feel different from the other kids when they were younger?
I dont think when i was younger i really thought it was different.. I mean going into junior high and stuff having girl friends, feeling nothing at all, just having a girl friend because thats what was expected...
Oh my word yes Especially in Primary school (4-11 yrs old), extra tall extra early and timid, could never work out then why i was stuck in with the girls all the time rather than mixing with the boys, didnt work out till later it was all about their daddy issues
Hmm...I guess in some ways, yeah I did feel different but I'm uncertain as to whether it related to my sexuality or not. Could be though.
I remember 1st grade was the strongest when I was 5, I was twice the height of the girls and timid, that little dude amongst their peers most like a dad
I never felt different no, but then didn't know anything of my sexuality. I find I feel different and out of place now, as an openly gay person. Whether I acted differently or not as a kid made no difference, there was the naivety of youth. And yes, like everyone I had all girl friends, apart from my best mate- a boy. He would be the earliest indication of my sexuality. I haven't seen him in over 10 years but swear there was something different (gay) about him, and I was smitten about it and clinged close to him. I think maybe having friends close like that helped with feeling normal. In fact, I am mostly sure he was as close to a first crush, yet for some reason I always felt it was natural. I still wonder what they hell he is like these days, interested to see how fine tuned the ol' gaydar was at about 10..
