LSD and it's effects on the brain are grossly underexplored. All we have to look at today are 50 year old experiments done on apes and wild conjecture passed around since the '60s. Yes I'm embellishing but it's true that we have no idea how LSD does what it does, really. but it sure does do what it does well. Eat some and see.
left/right brain distinctions are mostly folklore. We always use both sides of our brain. Different tasks however use the hemispheres to different extents. If you have any idea of what psychologists consider the left and right hemispheres to do, then i cant see how the answer could be anything other than 'acid promoting right brain over left brain' because language looses its meaning, whereas creative thought takes on all meaning. but once again, the left/right hemisphere distinction is pretty bogus when it comes to drugs, because the left and right brain are both are influenced by drugs. It is the structure of the hemispheres that leads to their differences, not their biochemistry. at least, that is what we can be confident about. we know the hemispheres do different things. But for a drug to implement on hemisphere over the other.. would require a bunch of drug receptor sites specific to each hemisphere. can anyone find information suggesting this?
