After you've got yourself going for a while try standing up, getting some lube that's not too thick (something like astroglide), crouch down a bit, and thrust into your hands. Then while you're doing all this start fanning your legs forward and backward and see what happens: they'll start going back & forth on automatic. It's freaky.

There's other cool automatic pilot type stuff to check out, and it all tends to happen as you get close to orgasm. Cramping in the feet. Feeling like you have to tense up your stomach in a thrust-your-genitals-forward kind of way. Faster breathing. Having thoughts of "having" to do this or that imposed on your consciousness.

And then try holding off for a while and see what happens. Eventually you won't be able to think about anything else. But when you're in that super horny state consider how you're driven. You're an animal and you can feel it deep down. It's primal and it's cool...

Anyway for me masturbation has been about getting in touch with what nature is really all about. It's mind blowing, and the key is to just let yourself be open to exploring and doing a bit of pushing. It's also made me more accepting about sexuality and other core parts of human nature. Opening yourself up to this key thing has a humbling & awe inspiring effect. Here's a relevant quote from Joycelyn Elders:

"...Masturbation, practiced consciously or unconsciously, cultivates in us a humble elegance -- an awareness that we are part of a larger natural system, the passions and rhythms of which live on in us. Sexuality is part of creation, part of our common inheritance, and it reminds us that we are neither inherently better nor worse than our sisters and brothers. Far from evil, masturbation just may render heavenly contentment in those who dare..." as from http://web.archive.org/web/20041019084748/http://www.uno.edu/~asoble/pages/elders.htm

And maybe doing it helps humans be a bit more like Bonobos and less like regular chimps. More the type who make love instead of war.

There's a bunch of other stuff to be discovered. The key is to take it slow at least once a week and just see how you feel at each stage. And try something new each time. Get a mirror. Look up close. You'll be amazed.
