Dreammoods.com is down right now and I just had to post this nightmare. I keep a recording of all my dreams (just because dreams fascinate me) but this one I just had to share.
It might be difficult to convey the terror of it because it probably sounds kind of like a joke because Tom Cruise as Lestat was the main character lol.
It's a long one so I'll try to condense and just get the main feeling across, but I can't shorten in too much because it comes full circle and the details were amazing.
    Here goes:

I live currently with my boyfriend at his parent's house in our own part of the house away from theirs. In the dream we were watching the house while his parents were away. When they came back they accidently brought caterpillars with them in the car which reproduced so quickly that our house was crawling with them. It was weird and instense and seemed meaningful that everywhere I looked I saw caterpillars...

Then in the dream, my boyfriend disappears. We find him on the street a week later, dazed and seeming high. He is not the same when we bring him home. In the dream it was as if I was given the gift of sight and I saw inside him to the real him. His eyes and mouth looked different and I saw that he saw nothing else but one thing in life. All his other desires were gone, but I wasn't sure what that one thing was. He was gone inside. We ended up breaking up because it was no longer him, and I started dating an old friend. It was a girl and so we wanted to take our parents out to dinner to discuss our relationship, which both of our parents frowned upon, being a homosexual one.

I cut the part with me and my boyfriend short because it's not too relevant, other than the fact that it was so dark and scary. It was like, I was getting to see the darkness beneath everyday life. The real hidden darkness that we like to sugar-coat or something...
    Very psychological dream....

So back to the girlfriend. We were with our parents and kissed a couple times in front of them which I was afraid would piss them off. Later they got mad and told us they were mad at the restaurant, which is mostly why we ended up leaving early.

What happened at the restaurant was the most important part of the dream.

I have never been intrigued by vampire myths, films and novels aside from an interest in historical figures and genuine folklore of vampiric activity. I'm in no way a vampire nut, wishing it was real. Not at all. I do not romanticize the concept in life, nor did I in this dream. I think the vampire was a symbol for something else in my dream...
I did, however, see Interview With A Vampire with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt, which is probably the only vampire movie I've ever seen and/or liked, which must be why I used Tom Cruise as Lestat as my vampire. lol.

The restaurant we went to was extremely expensive and quite amazing. We had to walk down a road from the parking lot just to get to it. It was by the sea and had large stones leading up to it. Seeing it in the distance was incredible. The beauty and precision of its appearance was astoundingly mesmerizing. And it didn't shape shift, as amazing lookng things tend to do in dreams, which made it even more amazing, making me feel lucid.

Once inside it was also just as beautiful and refined in taste as outside. My girlfriend's dad had received a random invitation to go there and a gift certificate, and it appeared that others had too. What appeared to be the owner was a handsome man with long blond hair in a pony tail down his back. This, I later learned, was a vampire. There were several people who had been there before and who had brought big groups of people back with them. Or, people who had been referred by friends and they all called out the owner's name. His name was Geremy. They said Jeremy, but the waiters all called him Geremy with a hard G. Everyone had raved about his amazing amazing restaurant and how incredible he personally was as the owner. They all wanted to talk to him. He never once seemed to be irked by the way everyone clambored to meet him. He kept looking at me and it scared me a lot.

My girlfriend reminded me that I left my medicine in the car and I needed to take it with dinner, so she went and got it for me. I took one pill.

Finally my girlfriend's parents and mine started yelling at us for kissing in front of them and in a public area and so we all started fighting and decided to leave. I was happy to get out of there because I could feel the environment of the restaurant was the most odd and intense one I'd ever experienced.

I had taken off my shoes and didn't want to walk up the road in bare feet. So my girlfriend said she would walk with me and find another way to get back. Then all the sudden she changed her mind and started pulling me back to the road. I refused and she left me. Then things started spinning and getting strange. I felt terrible danger but I was so mentally out of it I couldn't run or anything. Then I feel someone grab me from behind and bite my neck. I turn to see that it's Geremy, before everything goes into a psychedelic dream. I dont remember what the trip was exactly, just that it was a bad one. He had given me a drug to disorient me so he could catch me easier.
When I come to, I'm in a back part of the restaurant. Geremy is sitting at the head of a table and me and a bunch of others are sitting around the table. He is telling us that we will all change soon. He knows we will all resist it but we have no choice. Our life is over, it's just a matter of when. He explains everything to us in detail, but the gist is that his emotions and physical senses are gone, all he sees his one thing and soon we will be like that. It wasn't all fine and dandy like in Interview with a Vampire, it truly was hell. You live seeing only the darkness of the world, but you can't feel anger or hate towards it, you just are the darkness. It's a pretty good description of my depression I used to have.
Across from me I see a man finally succumb to the change. His facial features change and his mouth is full of black blood. This is Geremy's one goal forever, to force people to become like him.
He starts saying things to start my process of changing, and I resist it, like he knows I will. He laughs and I resolve never to change. I will get out of this with my soul intact. The terror was that vampires were real. And that nobody would ever believe me or have any way of saving me! Police would think I was a nutcase. My mother was recently diagnosed with cancer, and I think this part of the dream symbolizes that the thing I considered most terrifying, the thing that could never ever truly happen, did. My mother has a life-threatening illness. I knew this woud never happen to me, almost as certainly as I know that vampires are not real. So, now, who really knows??

There is more but it's not as interesting, or important.
The one thing that made this the most frightening dream I've ever had, was that he told me when I wake up he will still be with me. He will be watching me all the time and that at some point, even though he has let me go for the moment, I will become like him. It took me a few hours to shake that feeling and feel like it was not real. I went to the bathroom and checked for his teeth marks in my neck just to make sure. I was that convinced that it was real.
