Bill, in the letter from god post, (don't worry i understood you were just taking the piss and thaught it a bit strange to have an email from "GOD" and found that more disrespectful than anything you said) but you said you weren't planning on using this subforum again, i was wondering what kind of things you have learnt while on here, and what it is that has kept you interested?
huh the christian part of the site i mean, is that not where you said you were not planning on staying?
oh fair enough sorry i see what happened there, there was a link from here to there and then things went black and i just found myself making chains without any iron. no worries sorry. but i think what i was trying to say with this thread is it's encouragaing to see that some one is not only embrasing ideas but truly thinking and asking questions.
well id love it if it could be proven religion is true, its much more happier than what i believe atm.
i can't prove it for you but if you carry on exploring religion as you have been and maybe try reading some of the "holy" books of some religions that interest you with an open mind you can find something you beleive. it is hard when you beleive things that aren't particularly nice ideas and i know you can't just decide you are going to beleive something else as it just seems like you are fooling your self into living a lie. but there is one quote i can think of (from the bible) that might be encouraging, "Knock and the door shall be opened onto you, seek and ye shall find". and i'm prety sure that the way you have opened your mind are are looking at things you are sure to find what you are looking for even if it takes along time you'll find it is worth it.
so u are not satisfied with life after all! please remember wot i hav sed,i know u hav been tryin to prove me wrong all this time,but sometimes u dnt NEED the proof u just need to give it a chance,god works differantly with differant ppl,he doesnt barge in2 ppls lives. but ure now at the stage of ure life wen ure searchin for sumfin more,i know u can find this in god,because i found it.do some soul searchin,this is between u and god,who has been w8in paciently for u. god is more than religion,religion is a ceromony,religion is not how god intended christinaity to b,but to live in his freedom,and know his peace and grace. i will b prayin tha tyu find wat u are lookin for,even tho u dnt yet know wot it is
i find it hard to understand how you can suggest i find truth in other religions besides christianity, peppy.. and arlia, I am satisfied with my life, despite it being saddening at times. it brings other things that do not come from believing in religions.
if you don't find truth in christianity then you will still feel empty, so keep searching. i beleive the whole truth can be found in christianity but then that is just my experience of it. i'm just saying if you keep looking i'm sure you will find what you're looking for.
u dnt find satisfaction in a religion but GOD wen u spend time with god,things start makin semse in life, and u begin to realise how precious life is
i once believed in god from being brought up with it. this changed when i started living life more and becoming interested in the actuality of life and the world, and everything fits in as it is now, it just is a frightening and merciless thing, life. i actually apreciate life much more as an atheist, and everyhting makes more sense. you keep missing the point, im saying that seeing life the way i do brings lots of good thigns personally, but not the easy happiness one can get from believing.
i myself was bought up as xtian(religion)like the old church and that borin guy up at the front who dint seem relevcant,that is not wot im living for now,that is not wat excites me about jesus!church like that in my opinion makes christianity look very bland and makes god look like sum1 high up in heaven so far away.....wen the truth is christianity is a vibrant lively spirit moving faith!!!! life has never ever been so fantastic! yes i hada bad life before god,but im not sayin only ppl who hava hard time need god, iv known ppl that were very suscessful in life come to know christ and theyre lives blossomed even more!
