eh, it's not your fault a few like him reflect badly upon the rest. it's just too bad they don't take stricter measures to keep track of what kind of people enter the gathering.
im also sorry for elijah but I agree with his sentiment on the dead, they are totally a drug-icon, and ive never actually heard of anyone talk about them in Australia. I heard about them first when I started researching drug culture
Im not going to say anything about Rainbow Family, I like and dislike much about gatherings. However, Workingmans Dead and American Beauty are wonderful albums.
Jerry was a magician. There will not be another jerry. You got to respect your roots. I was concieved at a dead show, and been on tour since birth.
the wisest thing i've heard said about the grateful dead's music is that it's a lot like licorice. people that like licorice tend to really like licorice, but people that don't like licorice REALLY don't like licorice.
agreed. i cant speak for anyone else but i acquired the hell out of it as soon as i knew what music was.
the dead were one of my favorite bands for like 6 years before i'd ever even tried drugs. even now there are many many shows that i like listening to sober more than high on anything. admittedly i didnt enjoy certain playin in the band or dark star jams as much as i do now, first time on lsd hearing those and i had that "ooohhhhhhhh, so thats what theyve been doing" moment
The reason for my love of Jerry Garcia and his music is beyond description. It is the way that he so powerfully sings hunter's lyrics which seem to be adaptable and applicable to anybody's life situation as a therapeutic tool for spiritual growth. And how somehow the sound of his signing guitar tells me that it seems like everything might just be alright.
