From experience, don't give the Lock Peppa credence. It seems to work, but leaves you wanting the first time water hits your head.

I find that using Neutrogena Anti-Residue tends to tighten things up faster than the others I have experimented with, and taking a dip in some ocean water works wonders. ( I know a lot of folks love Dr. Bronner's, and I use it for most things in my home....but not for my hair. It leaves me feeling greasy. I think it all depends on your hair type and water quality.)

I am sure your dreads will be fantastic. Post some pics sometime....and since you are an Aussie I would greatly appreciate an audio file of you speaking. ;)

Yeah, the locking accelerator is crap, as is the lock peppa.
In Aus you can't buy them in stores, only online.

You can just make your own accelerator with sea salt, water and maybe some lemon juice if you feel like it....cheaper than buying it anyway.

but yeah not much else you can do to help speed them along, except maybe rubbing a woolen beanie/tam over your roots to help them lock up

the tea trea oil works as a yummy smelling agent, an anti-itch/anti-fungal/anti-buggies kind of thing. so it's not gonna hurt anything to go without it.

and i know from experience, the only thing from dreadheadhq that was actually any good was the dread soap.

sea salt water is the best thing for locking up the dreads. aside from patience of course. :)
