Piper at the gates... or darkside?

i was just wondering what do you guys think is a better album, more trippier etc. personally i cannot decide, but i think ill have to go with darkside

 

I'm gonna have to go with DSOTM.
Not because thats EVERYONES favorite album,
but just because I don't really like early Floyd stuff.

 

Darkside has alot of he "hits"

I like the gnome on piper at the gates of dawn..

 

piper at the gates is a way different sound than there other stuff syd barrett does a great job. i think i like the piper a little better

 

yeah, when you listen to piper when stoned or tripping, all i can think is "syd barrett is a fucking genius!". it seems that piper at the gates of dawn resembles more of a tripping mind than dark side, not to say at all that dark side is not as good for tripping

 

i can't choose...both albums are excellent. PATGOD is a really trippy album as well as DSOTM but both are in their own different ways. pure genius.

Hands down dark side of the moon, it's the greatest album ever created in the history of the world.

I have to go with Dark Side, too. I can't help but stand in awe of how perfect an album it is.

lol nah, i don't wanna be biased, it's all good
but i just didn't really like pink floyd when syd barrett was in it.. sorry to say
i'm not saying he wasn't a genius and a good musician, because he was..
its just my opinion, and i like pink floyds later sound more than their earlier
stuff.

 

thats too tough. love both albums, at a push i would have to say dsotm, just coz it has some great memorys attatched to it, altho all floyds earlier work is amazing! think it went downhill a bit when waters left to be honest. still good, but not great anymore.

yeah but on meddle i only like a few of the songs, such as echoes, one of these days, and pillow of winds, but on PATGOD and DSOTM i like every song on the album

 

well i believe darkside is the best put together album out of anything every created...
so im sticking with darkside of the moon.

 

The only song on Piper at the Gates that compares with anything on Dark Side is "Bike." IMO

Dark Side, by a land slide.
