i choke my self to the brink of suffocation. I don't know if it's the suffocation itself, or the ensuing 3 minutes of gagging for air that takes my mind off the hiccups. regardless, use this for last resort hiccup annihilation.
i don't they just carry on and on and on until i become subconcious to the fact. only then do they disperse.
My friends sister was a nurse and she said to drink a glass of water holding your nose, and it seems to work!
I don't know why but the moment I state that I have the hiccups, they stop. IDK. Anyone got answers on that. The nurses always say drink water and hold your nose. That's always been the medical solution. I guess it has to work if they are always saying that. Did you post this to see how many odd tricks people use? Mine just stop for whatever reason.
hiccups are technically an irritation in your diaphragm. i often get them when i don't chew my food well enough, and my diaphragm gets rather irritated that i'm trying to swallow such a large chunk of food, lol! or if i swallow too much air. i have coordination issues, lol! if it's cause i swallowed air, the only thing that helps is holding my breath, cause that allows the excess air to come up. if it's cause of food... it usually just has to go away on its own. take a while usually.
let someone else (you trust) hold a glass of water and serve it to you, it stops you breathing at your usual rate whilst drinking and they go. works first time everytime, honestly
this is all silly. none of these tricks have ever honestly worked for myself or anyone else i know. just wait, don't worry about it, they go away on their own
