nothing againt Bassnectar, as his live shows are a lot of fun (atleast i think so), but i own like 4 or 5 lorin albums and theres some really cool tracks, but just so many that arent that good too....like i said, live shows are fun (until he starts doing covers or stopping in the middle of a song to say something political which unfortunately just kills the vibe) but i always dance my ass off and have a great time. But i think he is just kind of like an entry level dj for people who are just starting to get into electronics/breaks...which is totally fine...hes just so much more popular than like any of them.... i think its because he actually plays jamband festivals and such and tours quite a bit unlike some electronic artists...but you gotta love bassnectar...he incorporates alot of different types of electronic music into each set, which can be both good and bad, and nice wobbly bass....bassnectar is starting to blow up though, which is good for the rest of the electronic scene too....i hope more electronic artists go through the jamband scene like lorin does, because theres a lot of people in that scene who love electronic stuff (sts9 is getting huge, pnuma, lotus, eoto, zilla, even umphreys is getting kind of electronic now) and its a good way to turn people on to some really amazing music
btw if you like dubhuasca in particular, you might want to check out KiloWatts (he has like over half a dozen albums) on addictech.com....my favorites are Problem/Solving and Routes...both are just amazing, amazing albums....they are somewhat similar to Dubhuasca... peace
You mean assnectar....I'm sorry but he can be down right negative sometimes with what he says and how he acts from my personal experiance...and I went on a 2 show run with him...and it was the same show both the nights...I mean much respect for his style.....but he needs to change it up a bit.....I've seen him probably like 6 times and all of the shows are basically the same....
I've never seen/heard him spin but I love some of his tracks. I listen to a wide range of music...and whenever I turn on this album it makes me happy
i loved bassnecter when i saw him at all good. i was rolling and wanted to keep hearing him the whole night. he only had a 30 to 45 min set. i loved him though!!! he still came on and did the show after having food posining
seeing him live is amazing. I swear he controls the weather!! It's always lighting when I see him...well at least half the time. It was a full moon when I saw him last time and he was like, " Yo check out the moon, that shit is FULL!" aside from his weatherman skills...he is amazing live...Everything from his look to his performance...i wish i could go more into his performance, but i get too into the music at his shows, dancing my ass off...but hes sick! I love when he starts with his hair in a bun...it looks like he has very short hair, then he lets it down and its down to his ass!! and then he head bangs!!! if i diont go to this rave, ima see him on halloween if you get a chance to see him stalk you should...tickets to his shows aren't that expensive yet. oh and at the same show when me spoke about the moon he paused a song because he killed a moth as he was spinning, and he apologized to the whole crowd...pretty much apologizing for killing a sentient being...i liked it and lastly, the one thing that kinda bothers me abotu his shows...i agree with most of his beliefs but hes very political...but he expresses that...people need and should know that going into a bassnectar show
