Just watched Indy Day...what a pile of pants that film is. What part do you not like? I don't like any of the central characters the minor characters or the plot.
Independence Day. I was being lazy. But, I am planning on having my own personal Indepedence day. I was just watching that film at the time and thought how rotten it actually was...I almost started to hate all Americans that ever have or ever will walk the earth.
haha! i actually like the indiana jones movies, AND independence day. but i like lots of movies that lots of people would call crappy. i also like lots of movies lots of people would say are brilliant. i have my own reasons. but you are fundamentally correct.... americans are dumbasses. for the most part.
To be fair "The Last Crusade" was ok and I imagine the last one is better. The reason I don't like the others is because they have annoying characters in them or/and boring plots. I'd not go as far as dumbasses. I just don't like the Americentric viewpoint many seem to have. Neither do I like the flag waving - cosmically xenophobic and ferociously patriotic stance some people have, either. I did have a laugh though during the film. When that chap goes on a suicide mission shouting something like: "Come on get it boys - I'm back" I was thinking he could have said: "Smoke me a kipper" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=d-_2_CHn7jU
At least in most American films they tone it down a tad. I don't think they make films that god awful very often. Indiana might be fun - I guess it is just that little lad that pisses me off. Plus the fact George Lucas had something to do with it. Whenever I think of Indy I think of those two annoying things. I cringe.
yeah, george lucas is an ass. the 3 newer star wars were pretty badly done. too much cg, didn't look real. and the acting was atrocious. indiana jones IS fun. the new one is pretty good, and i really like shia lebouf... he was phenomenal in transformers. the first one was the better of the first three indy jones movies, i will agree. oh, and yeah... many americans are very egocentric and rediculously patriotic. it annoys me on a regular basis.
You would have thought that 20 years was long enough to get it right...but noooooooo - style over content (and another annoying character) later and we get trash. Oh, alright Indy is fun. Happy now folks? Even in the most benign American progrmames/films there is usually a huge F*** off flag flying somewhere...grrrrr
