So my mom finally found out i smoke weed

I've been smoking for exactly a year now and my mom found my bowl in my jeans pocket this morning. I just got my drivers license less than two weeks ago and she was going off about how I'm probably driving around stoned. So I'm not allowed to drive anymore and I'm grounded. She seemed more upset than angry but I'm still not going to quit smoking. Now that I'm grounded, I don't know if I should start trying harder in school or helping around the house to make her happier or if I should just become lazy and tell her I'm not gonna do shit until she lets me drive and hang out with my friends again.

 

you definitely should help her out and do better in school so she knows that you are responsible and she is able to trust you again

 

i don't think its that hard to drive stoned unless i'm like royally fucked up and can't focus or keep my eyes open from laughing so hard.

Doing better in school will help a lot, it pretty much takes all the oomph out of any argument a parent can make.

Well that sucks man, but dont just become lazy and expect things to change, i would stick with helping out around the house and doing well with schoolwork. Maybe even try talking to your mom about weed... when i talked to my parents about it, honestly telling them why i did it and it did not interfere with school and work, neither of them cared that much anymore. I guess it depends how your parents are

This is happening to me. I have a 3.6 GPA. Im working to go to a music college for my 4 year degree. I play string bass in 2 orchestras. I work hard at school and on my music. But they still hate the fact that I smoke. They said before that they would take my xbox, pc and tv away if i got caught. That was 2 times ago aha. They found a stem in the laundry yesterday and still havent done anything.

I think they have given up hope for trying to get me to stop because I dont see herb as a problem so they shouldnt.

 

People our age sometimes have to face this shit man. I have a friend whose dad used to grow pounds and pounds of weed and we can go over there and smoke bud with his dad home no problem.

My parents are probably more like your mom. They suspected something for a while when I started to smoke a lot of weed but finally knew for sure when I got a posession ticket. I wouldn't get lazy and have an attitude really. The way I look at it I just pretend that I don't smoke weed. Keep yourself smart, use eye drops if you need to, cover up the smell, and deny everything when questioned. Sucks that you are grounded though...it will last shorter than you think man.

 

I looked at my situation realistically and decided my parents will never approve of me smoking pot. This is why I have no choice but to deny it and try to make myself believe I don't as long as I am in their house. Sometimes I forget that I do because I'm so high!

 

Doing well in school is key. My parents smashed my bong and stole my wine from me, and then let me go out the next night. When I originally got caught I was banished from 1 friends house. The punishments are certainly less severe now as I think they have given up. My mom did say I was "out of control" though.

Yeah, I would def. not get an attitude b/c she'll only be shitty back to you. And I def. wouldn't get lazy b/c then she'll probably contribute that to the weed & yell at you & say you're lazy because you smoke. I know its something MY mom would say. So I would just be as nice as possible, do shit around the house, stuff like that 2 win back her respect.

When I got in trouble I just sat in my room all day and worked out. Did some good shit for 3 weeks. I became so unproductive, I didn't talk, and I didn't shave or cut my hair. my Mom just decided that enough was enough and let me go back out. I got to catch the pineapple express premiere even.

It was my last summer before I leave for college and she was gonna fuck it all up, so honestly I wrote her a letter saying how important my final weeks were for me.

And yes I still smoke profusely. When you get caught it means typically that you are smoking strong and often. I've never known any of my friends that got caught to actually quit.
