I saw the cops drive by the party at my friends house...called him to let him know and then left to not get busted. Leaving I pulled out on the main street then bam the red & blue. He asked what I was doing up there said i was just over at a friends house, took my drivers lincense and registration then had me wait for like 10 minutes. Another cop pulled me out of the car, searched me and gave me the flashlight on the eyes and knew i had been drinking. gave me a breathilizer and I blew a .06.....played 3 games of beerpong and luckily there were so many people there that the keg was going dry and only had 4 beers. The cops were asking each other what they should do with me...haha could of had a bad underage DUI cause im only 19, but they just decided to let me go and told me to wait a few years....I drove off with a quarter of weed in my car and a zong in my possession. lucky night
I was thinking about what I was going to say. The one cop was using his flashlight to look through my car's limo tint at 1 am but he never had any real suspicions to search my vehicle because I don't keep shit out in the open
that's amazing you got away. most states have a zero tolerance policy, where if you're underage and blow even a 0.01, you go to jail. period. not sure what state you are in, but damn you're lucky. and i'm fairly certain that if they get you for a DUI, they don't have to have your consent to search your car after they arrest you. from my experience of encountering police while having drugs in your possesion.. as long as your not a douche bag and act like a cocky little shit who "knows their rights".. cops dont really do anything other than give you a ticket for the reason they pulled you over... if a cop "smells weed" he can search your car, so there isnt much you can do.
so in the us is it actually illegal to drink under 21 even on your own property that must suck for you guys so bad. In the uk its 18 on licensed properties and there is no drinking age on privet properties so they cant bust house parties for alcohol
They actually went up to the house that was hosting the party and told everyone to leave, and the owner who was having the birthday party had to have a sit down with the cops, half the people there were underage.
the smell of weed is not probable cause to search your car, smell will not hold up in court because you can't bring it, and it is very subjective in some states the smell of weed is cause to search the driver or passengers. If you have balls and press it, they have to do one of 2 things A. Not look in your car B. Call in a K9 unit but that takes time, and effort, its not as easy as they want you to think, there are not many on call at any given time they might do it, but even if they find anything you are not any worse off then if you had said Yes ok search my car. I find cops always ask whats that smell, I have been in new cars with non smokers and they still ask if we have been smoking, it's just a general tatic used by the cops if they throw enough crap at the wall something will stick, if they make you admit something by asking general questions, that is the goal. That is how they are trained
