business cards

totally useless, yet i continue to take them from people. i then stuff them into my wallet, not to be looked at for roughly a year or so, where i then clean my wallet out and wonder why the fuck i took someones business card without contacting them again.

its a never ending cycle

 

you're right. they are completely useless .... until you get your own.

talk about a life altering event.

 

I collect them. I've no idea why. Probably because there is no other use.

Someday you'll see me on the Antique roadshow and I'll be rich.

I need to get some more made.

 

I keep the ones that have plain backs and use them to write little reminder notes on

 

I use the backs of business cards to write important pieces of information on that have nothing to do with the person who gave me the card.

 

I make my business cards into castles or use them as fire starters

 

i got to start handing them out.

 

get a folder for them and write the event you met them at on the back to trigger your memory int he future. If you are bad with faces an names make a physical reference to them as well. Email them afterwards and let them know how nice it was meeting them. Even if they are someone you view as your peer emailt hem. You never know where they will be in a couple of years.

not so useless?

 

I have business cards that say I am a professional baby slayer... Pfft, see if I ever give you one now...

People give me their business cards and I can't tell you why they do... I use to have some for my other job, haha, it was funny to see my name and such on a business card but no one ever wanted one..

 

Do you want my business card fitzy? It's purdy, very girly. But you've got to order some sweets from me.

Seriously though, I don't hand out my card often, only if someone expresses an interest, or, when filling orders, we attach one to the box for future reference.

 

just dump them all in those free givaway bowls at retail places

 

as much as this is drilled into my head, i just can't do it. it just doesn't click for me when i do get a card. it makes sense though

It's so worth the effort. Everyone wants to feel remembered and valued. If you do it enough pretty soon you'll start getting job announcements emailed to you before they hit monster or the paper.

 

Does it count if you make them yourself on sheets of construction paper..?

 

i'll try to make a concsious effort in the future. break in some new habits
