A couple nights ago I decided to take the last of my ativans.(Im now prescribed klonopin) I took 3, then another 3 alittle later. I felt great..A couple hours later I go down to my kitchen to get food. Its almost pitch black and Im shocked to see waving figures, moving slowly and beautifully. It was awesome..I wasnt even that intoxicated at all..that was the cool part I just stood there moving my head to the way they moved around. Almost in moth-like, flower shapes or something. Anyway, I just thought it was strange, but also cool..has anyone ever experienced this before, and know why this happened?

i dont remember much at all about my few lorazepam experiences, however if i had to guess id say it had more to do with your mental state than it did with the chemical in your body

i take ativan every day and i've never experienced this phenomenon, although, i know quite a few people who have had the same thing happen to them. idk what it is. maybe i'll get to see it one day.

if you don't mind me asking, how did you get your doc to move you up to clonazepam? mine won't do it because he's really sketchy about scripting benzo's to his patients. anything in particular that you told him/her?

    thanks :)

Everything at night time warps and melts, for me...and I never take these pills.
I hardly ever do anything than drink wine and smoke an occasional spliff these days
    and STILL
everything at night moves around.....I love it
    (that's just my take!)

Klonopin (clonazepam) may be habit forming. Physical and/or psychological dependence can occur, and withdrawal effects are possible if the medication is stopped suddenly after prolonged or high-dose treatment. Do not stop taking Klonopin (clonazepam) suddenly without first talking to your doctor if you have been taking it continuously for more than 5 to 7 days. Your doctor may want to gradually reduce the dose.

    (from drugs.com/klonopin)

that shit sounds pretty manipulative; MAY BE HABIT FORMING. DO NOT STOP TAKING. GIVE THE DRUG COMPANY MORE $$!

i wouldn't be taking that unless you actually have seizures or major panic disorders, which i believe it is used to treat.

What is this propaganda bullshit? A benzo is a benzo, they are used to treat a variety of things, and Klonopin is not considered one of the more HARDCORE benzo's.

Oh, no wonder, you got this info off of drugs.com

Every drug has side effects, give me a break.

well, my psych started me off with low doses of lorazepam(ativan), after I told him how my anxiety effected my life in a negative way and physically too. I noticed that I had a high tolerance naturally, and told my doc that they werent doing much for me anymore. I was then prescribed klonopin .5mg. later upped to 1mg. She thought theyd suit me well because they last long and arent quite as addicting as say..xanax.

Of course they do...they are a business. What business doesn't WANT you to be into their product. They are about their money just like anyone else. It's up to the PATIENT to decide what is right for her/him, blaming the doctors is just a pathetic excuse.

The doctor didn't force it down your throat, and the doctor didn't make you addicted, YOU did. That is my stance. This is like getting mad at a video game company for you having epilepsy and having a seizure, even though you have read/heard the warnings.

That warning is on the front of every bottle of addictive pills, that can cause severe reactions (like death) when quitting abruptly. In these cases you must be weened off the drug, with the guideance of your doctor.

    Routine stuff. For your safety.

Yea I've always heard that benzos can be deadly when trying to come off them. It's a shame, over the years I've witnessed several people have their minds/lives ruined over this drug, people who were once vibrant and passionate just turn into lazy people who do nothing but complain about how much pain they are in, day after day. Really it's a shame. But it's not my life or my place to judge, it's just that out of all the addictions I've watched unfold so far, alcohol and benzos are the most destructive at least to my friends. Even opiate and cocaine addiction leaves people semi pleasant to be around when they cant score.
Anyway I dont recall any visual dances on benzo nights from my youth, but then again I dont remember anything about my experiences with them other than the part when I snap out of it and find myself in the strangest of places. The strangest being half way up a signal tower, clutching the built in ladder with half a beer dangling from my forefingers.

    God Bless +

Ativan was the first benzo prescribed to me and it did nothing. I'd get more of an effect after drinking a big glass of water. My PCP wouldn't give me anything else, so I started going to shrinks and went through three before finding one that would consider Xanax. They can be so stingy with benzos, eh?

Man, I came up on a bottle of like 25 1mg ativans. I would take like 2-3mg with 2-4mg of xanax like nothing, and didnt have a single visual. I think it's impossible to have visuals on benzos..
