I believe the ultimate test of whether or not one is a "real" nudist is if he/she enjoys being nude when completely alone. Although I have been a practicing nudist for many years, and certainly enjoy the social aspect of being nude with other persons, I don't restrict myself to being nude only at those times when I am with others.

When I was first living alone, as a young adult, I would be naked at home whenever I was alone. One weekend I managed to remain naked for the whole time: sixty hours. Monday morning it was almost more than I could do to get dressed and go out into the world again.

Do others enjoy solitary nudism, as I do?

I would think that a lot of begginning nudists start out as nude on their own to gain more confidence and become very comfortable with their own body before allowing others to see them all the time...am I wrong by that? That's just the way I feel...

Maybe it's an introvert/extrovert thing, but I actually prefer being nude alone or with my wife over larger gatherings. At my local resort, there are essentially three pretty distinct groups; social nudists (who hang around the main pool, chatting and drinking), families (who tend to use the upper pool and stay to themselves), and "naturists" (who tend to walk the trails, swim in the river, use paddle boats, etc.). I fall into the latter group and honestly enjoy the overwhelming calm of sitting under a shade tree by the river...just chillin'. Mind you, I'm not anti-social and I do chat with other nudists, but I pay my annual resort fees for the solitude more than the social interaction.

I agree. I'm naked only when I'm alone.

To answer the original question, yes, of course I love being nude alone. Actually that's most of how I do it these days. I am alone a lot, and I get just as much pleasure from nakedness being alone as with the few times I'm still with other people. ALL nudity that I can be in is good.

That's it for me, too. I've always been picky about the company I keep. A shared willingness to disrobe in public has always seemed to me a pretty flimsy basis for a friendship. As it happens, I've never really clicked with any of the nudists I've met; all the people whom I do consider close friends have pretty conventional ideas about modesty. Around them, I stay dressed. I save my naked time for when I'm home alone, when I can get to a clothing-optional beach, or when visiting any of the secluded swimming holes within driving distance.

I do so often. Comig home from work, take a shower and then stay naked .. things like this. It's easy and comfortable.

So far all I've done is solitary nudism, but I plan on borrowing my parents car and going down to a c/o beach this weekend. I've on recently been experimenting with nudism. Mostly I've been sleeping nude, hanging out nude when nobody's home, and some hanging out on my deck in the nude.

Yes! I have always enjoyed nudism alone. also some company is good if you feel like. C/O beaches, resorts, etc. I enjoy too. But most of my nudism is at home doing my chores and chilling.

Yeah, I like to be nude alone. My room mate knows I like to lounge around in the buff but I don't think I'd ever do it front of her. She hasn't expressed any objection to it... I just wouldn't feel comfortable doing it because I don't if she is. Relaxing in the nude is TRULY relaxing... for me!

A few years ago, during a particularly difficult time of life, I would go to a nearby nudist club on a day during the week when usually no-one else would be there. I would park my car and undress, then walk as much as a half-mile from the car, completely naked. It was so relaxing and exhilarating for me to be naked alone out of doors.

Yes, there were a few times when others would be there, and I did enjoy their company while we were together. Once a couple of work-men were there, fully clothed, of course, and I stayed naked while we talked, without feeling the least bit self-conscious.

I would recommend solitary nudism to anyone. It will help you to find-out who you really are.

BooBoo87 you are a true nudist or naturalist. Check the AANR website ... here is U.S. the general public confuses nudism with sex. The Europeans have the true concept. Its relaxing, de stressing, and make you feel alive. As you grow you will find more and more attracted to the idea. Also ...change your blue jeans for ALL COTTON loose pants and you will go comando all the time. They are the closest thing to be nude. Try them and you will let me know. Do draw-string, cotton pants.

I never looked at myself that way, but I guess it makes sense. I don't know if I can give up the jeans though... I dig wearing them. I do wear cotton pants around the house and when I do I go commando ;-)

How wonderful, advice about naturism from someone who can't tell a naturist from a naturalist.

Amontillado ..don't be cynical. Stay on the positive side. Ofcourse I know the difference. I am both. They are NOT incompatible.

Someone talks about going around naked, and you respond with "you are a true nudist or naturalist"...

You can call me cynical if you want, but I won't change what I said. Commenting on something that you can't spell makes it seem as though you don't know much about it.

Sure, it's possible to be both a naturist and a naturalist. You could be naked out there among the bugs and the mosses! But you might get taken a bit more seriously if you know which one you're talking about.

I would think every nudist starts by being nude by him/her-self

nude and alone almost go together in my book

I'm never alone-my bf and i are together damn near 24/7-and we work as a clothing optional cleaning service, so being nude almost feels like work now-but in my younger days i'd be nude alone every chance i got-and at a club i'm one who wanders the trails and thinks deep thoughts by myself (and a few squirrels cussing me out from overhead)
