I've been out of it for a long time. Nothing much really changed, just got away from the site for some reason and never got back. I let my sub run out, gotta get $10 for that one of these days. It's amazing, how little $10 will buy but how fast it goes when you get it. Anyway, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, maybe get fleabay started again, and since I got broadband again, I might enjoy it even more. I think that's a lot of the reason I stopped dropping by, I was stuck out in a place the only way to get online was by dialup, which is basically obsolete now, or by buying $600 of satellite transceiver hardware and paying $100 / mo to use it. I like this cable option, got the phone/web/tv bundle, I know the telco complains the telephone goes out when the power goes out, but around here, if there's no tv or internet, we go to bed, so no telephone service is kind of a blessing really, we don't have the feckin thing waking us up If I was serious, I could fix up a UPS for the cable modem, but I'm not that serious. If they need to call me, they can wait until the power's back on. And the speed is unbeilevable. I bought into the telco's propaganda about cable loading down at peak usage, but so far it's been much faster than DSL. Enough of the technical stuff. Glad to be back, hope to get back into the swing and enjoy myself here like I used to. You guys are the best, hope you all have better days ahead and may good karma be with you.
Yeah I'm in the same boat you are. I just got back up and running again. Man I felt like a little piece of my hear was ripped out of me when I couldn't get online and in the forums. I nice to have like minded people to relate to again. I also feel you on the part where you said if you don't have tv or internet you go to bed, I live in central florida which is where all the retired folks cum to well retire and they have banned porn shops and head shops so it get super boring here. See yah around.
Books are great for many reasons, and this is one of them. We're way to dependant on electricity to amuse ourselves now a days.
