i think there was a murder in my hometown about 5 years ago, if i remember correctly. where i live now, probably at least one a day.
Ha ha, such an Ironic thread for my return from a three day internet semi hiatus. I couldn't find an actual statistic but I don't think its particularly high for a city of 1 million, something like 6 people. However, my state is notorious for serial killers, we usually make international news for some sort of notorious fetish killing every year or so.
New York is my second home. But my HOME home town has an average of 15 homicides daily. Which amounts to 5-6,000 annually. Represent. :cheers2:
Well lets see... There were 282 murders in Baltimore last year. There have only been 184 to date this year. So we have that going for us...
The funny thing is that statistically I'm probably about 10 times less likely as you Americans to be murdered yet twice as likely to be kidnapped, tortured and left to sit out a slow and agonizing death after which I will be hacked to pieces and put in a barrel. EDIT: Make that 100 times less likely - 282 people!??
It's all in the little projects up there. We used to get brains splattered right up by Port Authority dude (42nd and 8th Ave). Different ballpark of chaosity.
Anyone live in Gary, Indiana? http://geography.about.com/b/2004/01/04/gary-indiana-leads-in-per-capita-homicides.htm .
