when will this (DXM) be over?

i took 300mg worth of robotussin, at 1:10am, and it's nearly six am. when will my vision go back to normal, my body won't feel so odd.
man, never again no more robos for me.

robo sucks I tried that crap once and never again shit I rather do benadryal again rather than robo. only thing I remember that helped me was to take so sleeping aids and ride it out until they kicked in

 

Yeah man, I won't be doing this robo again. I've never done benadryl, but I think I'm going to stay away from OTC drugs.

 

i would never take robotussin just to get high. my sister took that shit and had a seizure.

 

I liked DXM. Too much will make you have a seizure though. 300 mg is too much for a first trip. I believe that's low 3rd plateau isn't it?

plateau doses i think depend on tolerance. like now if i take 300 mgs ill just get like a nice drunken opiate type buzz. dxm is shunned alot in the drug world but it can be a very eye opening and spiritual experience provided that you arent allergic to any of the inactives the pills or syrup. thats probably what happened. next time get zicam max cough. it tastes horrible but its only a quick shot that you gotta swig down plus its pretty much pure dxm so you dont have to worry about allergic reactions to binders or inactives.

ive had very poweful pyschedelic experiences on dxm. i did 2000 mgs one night and had very strong visuals and had near death experiences and bonded with my cat. dxm in high doses can lead to rebirth and contact with aliens (obviously fake but if your religious like i am it can be a little freaky).

it angers me a little when people shun dxm and tell people to use "real drugs". granted, not everyone is going to like dxm but judging one's drug use shouldn't become an issue. i mean dxm can kill you if your not careful but so can other drugs that people commonly talk about on here.

im sorrY SOAD that they trip didnt go over good for you. but dont let it discourage you. if you ever get the urge to take dxm again, take 2 or 3 dramamines or benadryls with it. that will help with the feeling nauseous and the itching some people get. also did you take the robo gels or down some syrup? if it was syrup it mightve been psychosematic )sp?) since drinking cough syrup can be rather horrifying. i puke if i have to take nyquil when im sick. *shudders*

 

Opiate like buzz from DXM?

That is insane. I felt horrible even after 200mg of DXM....I felt like I was drunk, but still felt like I drank a bottle of cough syrup. Opiates give Euphoria....DXM doesn't, no matter WHICH dose you take, IMO.

300mg is like a 2nd plateau trip lol. some people just react badly to it. after effects will last the entire next day but the main effects are gone in 6-8 hours.

oh and i get euphoric every time i take DXM. if i did'nt, i probably wouldn't take it lol.

 

I've already known plenty of this info. Regardless, DXM does not give any type of opiate like effects. DXM itself is considered a dissociative. If the opiate-like effects were THAT pronounced, it would be considered an opiate as well. It's not, though.

Morphinan is a base chemical structure of a SUBGROUP of opiods, which does NOT make it an opiate, and does NOT mean it gives any sort of opiate like effects.

Not one of those are considered "opiates" considered for recreational use. DXM does not have opiate like effects, despite it's base structure, sorry!

Hopefully this DXM = opiate rumor will die finally!

If you still want to argue....why is DXM considered a dissociative, and not an opiate/opiod? Why is it not used in other opiates/opiods, or used as one itself? Oh, because it doesn't work like that.

Also, next time you want to make a point, don't claim you are too lazy to dig up facts about it. Don't claim it unless you can back it up. It helps everyone out in the long run. Thanks to your post we probably have 20 people running to chug cough syrup thinking they will get an opiate like high.

 

I have to agree with U4IA. I've had plenty of 2nd-3rd plateau doses of pure DXM and one high 4th plateau dose that made me vow never to take Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide ever again.

I have never gotten any type of euphoric effects from DXM in my year or so of using the drug. But I did, however, get the drunken alcohol-like effects from most 1st-2nd plateau doses, but nothing that I would consider actual euphoria and definitely no opiate-like effects. It seems that the drug really becomes a dissociative at the 3rd plateau dosage level. 3rd plateau was always where I preferred to reside anyway and the 4th was just an accidental OD.

But yeah, no opiate-like effects for me, ever. And I did it a bunch. I had a 25g bottle of pure Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide powder/crystals.

 

First I gotta ask if you have ever tried DXM. Then, I have to say to not made a broad statement like that. Everyone is different with drugs, so while it may not give you euphoria or opiate-like effects, it may give other people that. I had the most emphatic experience in my life on my first DXM trip, and it was 210 mgs I believe. I was VERY, INTENSELY euphoric and sappily kind to everyone I was with. Generally, It may not sedate people the same way opiates do, but it sure as hell gave me an opiate like euphoria. Sounds like you have no idea what you are talking about because you love to make huge generalizations with no way to back them up

I have taken DXM over 30 times.

DXM does not give euphoria, and does not give similar results as opiates do. I stick by my original post. Sorry....as much as it seems that I just spout out shit based on wikipedia....it's personal results as well.




As I said, it's based on my personal experience, and now Pat has posted that after a year of using DXM, he would never consider it a euphoric experience. I am sure you can find plenty more people who will say the same thing.

About 75% of people who try DXM actually end up HATING the experience. It's not what many people would call a pleasant experience, and the body buzz is VERY unpleasant. Not to mention the constant god damn itching, ugh!

 

I took the pills, and yes, I got super itchy when I was coming down. At first the itching felt good but it burned like hell after I stopped.

I will probably try it again sometime in near future, I will wait awhile though.

EDIT: I think I read somewhere that it gives a music euphoria, but I never felt anything. But it was near the end of my trip and I was listening to Marilyn Manson, so that might be the reason ^^.

 

DXM+Pot will definitely make music sound fucking amazing. I usually end up taking off my shirt when it kicks in to rub lotion all over myself it relieves the slight itchiness/dryness DXM can give you. DXM by itself is very different than DXM+pot

 

I experience euphoria regularly on disassociatives, sometimes so strongly I have to cover my mouth to hide laughter or hold back tears of joy. It depends on the person tripping.

300mg is a tease dose, maybe 2nd plateau. You are missing the entire psychedelic side of it, no wonder it doesn't seem worth it to you. Also try and get a hold of dxm gel caps instead of cough syrup, which is much grosser to down and guarrantees diarrhea and vomiting.

 

Euphoria isn't an effect of a dissociative. Euphoria can mean a lot of things to different people, but dissociatives, DXM specifically, will not produce opiate-like euphoria. That is my opinion, anyways. If you feel the same euphoria from 600mg of cough syrup then you do with 80mg of Oxycodone, then consider yourself lucky, haha.
