2 of my dreads are splitting down the middle into 2, and I want them to be one, so I put a bead on them. The bead is not really a bead, its like a cylinder that I found in an arts and crafts project. Its made out of soft plastic. Will they melt into my hair like rubber bands?

depends..its possible if theyre like a rubbery material
define..sployt down the middle..if they are split down the middle then they already are 1 at the roots right?
so as they grow just the ends will be split
most likely if they are forned dreads adding a bead wont join them at the ends they will nust grow together at the rooys so the bead wont exactly help ya all that much
so if uyoir worried it might melyt then id just do without it..either way they will stay attached at the roots and grow as 1 dread from there

If you're not sure, then why take the risk?
There are alot of cool beads out there that are made from natural products; wood, bone, shells. You shouldn't have to resort to using something that might be unsafe for your dreads.

I just rooted around looking for something in my house. Its not rubbery, its just soft, like I could pinch it and it would bend. The dreads splitting apart arnt completly apart, there connected my a thin layer of congo, but I don't think that they'll stay together without my intervention. If I was to put a bead at the roots, and one at the tips, would they cojoin then?
