Well it is when everything you do is half an hour away,at least LOL and in the winter i really hate driving out of town,so i feel so far away from everything here.
Well my favorite thing is to go to concerts, and you cant find a single venue within half an hour of here. So i'm always driving for those. I like hanging out in bookstores but the nearest one i know of is also half an hour away. I love trying new resteraunts but,the 3 Hastings has i've already been to a hundred times LOL
I can see how that would be a problem. Actually went to a metal concert about a week and half ago. In St. Paul, so I guess it wouldn't do you any good.
I LOVE Station 4!! But i've never heard of those bands, must be harder than my taste LOL I've been to that place about 4 or 5 times,i saw Lillian Axe there,From First To Last 3 times, and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.
I had always heard bad things about Station-4 until I went last year for the first time. It really is a great club, IMO. I like how the bar area is raised a bit above the show area. Anyways, Amon Amarth is a death metal band. I would hazzard a guess and say it is harder than most people are used to.
What bad things did you hear about Station 4? I heard it was the best rock club in the Twin Cities (i can't really say cuz i haven't been to many). I love how it's set up too. But my favorite part is how close you can get to the stage, and how easy it is to get up front even when the place is packed to the gills, and being a girl and having the girls bathroom right where the bands walk in,thats a nice perk! yeah death metal is...lol,well,lets just say an aquired taste. I really did give it a chance though,i dated a guy for over 2 years who only listened to death metal. I realized that its the vocals that i don't like, some of the music is good. I'd guess that it's probably the hardest music to play, unless you figure that it sounds so chaotic that if they made a mistake you would hardly notice
I used to hear bad things about the management, and the overall condition of the building. However, last year I heard they got a new owner that was really turning things around, so I decided to take in a show. I was very, very impressed by the place.
Oh i never heard anything about the management but yeah the condition of the building is pretty bad...the first time i went there,i felt pretty unsafe LOL I mean the steps are rickety and the bathrooms seem abandoned, the whole place is just really dungeon-like. But i just wasn't used to being in old historic buildings,it didnt bother me at all the 2nd time. My only complaint now is that stupid pole right in the middle of the floor!! No matter where you stand,it's blocking your view of some part of the stage (well, unless you're in front of it). I would be going there Friday to see Copeland but there is a better show at the Cabooze so that's where i'll be
