I guess I've believed in reincarnation for quite a number of years now. I've recently read some things that are making me start to question this belief. Science seems to be convinced that all metaphysical phenomenon are merely constructs of the "God" part of the brain. They say that meditating changes the physiology of the brain so that our individual consciousness is expanded. Now it appears that some who have studied this issue from the spiritual side of things for many years are in agreement.
I know there is very little scientific evidence of astral travel, soul survival beyond death, or reincarnation, although there is much anecdotal evidence.
Is there anyone here that can say from their own experience whether there is any way to know for sure before death arrives if reincarnation is a reality? I've had evidence myself and have read things that seem to be truth about knowing things that couldn't be known by ordinary physical world means, but this doesn't necessarily imply that any part of us survives our physical death. I'm more curious about an after life and karmic law as it is applied across lifetimes. I also know that myriad people write about all kinds of things that happen after death, but I don't think I've ever read any two accounts that match 100% and with all the for sure fakers out there, it's difficult to ascertain who is telling the truth, who is lying through their teeth, and who is just repeating something they heard or read. So please don't quote someone or refer me to someone's teachings. What is your knowledge on the subject? Thanks!

    this is really interesting

I wish I could find a link, but I was reading about this one fire fighter who died during a rescue mission or something, and he sustained a scar on his chin. there was another guy who looked exactly like him, with a birth mark in the same spot

it'd be cool if there was more meaning behind birth marks than we may realize

There are tons of stories about this type of thing. Not only are there physical birthmarks that correspond to gun shots, etc., but there are people who remember being someone else in a past life and actually go meet the people they remember as family members. Those people are then convinced of this person being a reincarnation of that family member who died. Kennedy is said to have many similarities to Lincoln, suggesting that he may have been a reincarnation of Abraham. There has been some science applied to this phenomenon, but it is not widely accepted. Those who support this type of thing being a manifestation of the brain say that it can be attributed to our DNA and our bodies being composed of previously used carbon.

This doesn't seem to be very plausible, but then neither do a lot of the things that I read about the metaphysical realms.

Reincarnation is best explained by DNA/RNA transcripting.

Please feel free to explain away. I've never heard of DNA/RNA transcripting.
