To Whoever keeps un-plugging the server "database error" knock it off

 

I'm constantly amazed at the tempest in a teapot that can be stirred up by a phrase like; “a civilian national security force”.

Taken by itself it could mean almost anything but in the middle of a speech about serving your country by doing public service like the Peace Corps, I just don’t get the idea that he was suddenly talking about forming a Nazi like SS in the US.

Call me old fashioned but when in the middle of a half hour speech all on the same subject , a sentence or two are said, I tend to believe those sentences have something to do with the rest of the speech rather than some thing else entirely.

He said: “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded,”.

When taken in context, it means that if we continue to use just our military to make the US secure we will never have enough military or security. What we need is civilians that are willing to volunteer to strengthen the US by helping here, by helping tutor and mentor our young, by helping to clean up our environment and by stepping in to help in times of disasters, then by volunteering abroad in things like the Peace Corps and foreign service, so our security is strengthen by improving our relationships with other nations and that this kind of service needs to be as well funded as the military.

 

Come on now, that's way out of date. Two or more words, regardless of context, mean whatever I want them to mean based on whatever political objectives i have in mind. That's something movie studios and cad have known for a long time.

Right, it doesn't matter what actually comes out of Obama's mouth, as long as you're wearing rose colored glasses.

I don't have a problem with what he "Obama" said as much as i do with the transcripts omitting his statement.

Seems Gardener at one time was very worried about it, do You ever wonder what political objectives gardener had in mind when he said,

So, did He explain it to you, or do you just not care anymore.

 

The thing is, he's slipping more and more of these references to the ideologies that he grew up with, and in the context of the movie about him, they make perfectly clear exactly what he means.

Another thing ~ if this civilian national security force was as well-funded as our military, they would be ARMED, and have access to all of the equipment of our military, right? That's just a bit diff than the Peace Corps...

And if it IS just a Peace Corps program, WHO is going to go to Iraq (or just about any of the Middle Eastern countries)??? Infidels? Oh, yeah, THAT ought to go over, REAL well...

Please, think about the big pic, not just the little snapshots 'the news' is showing you.

If you will notice the transcript is not of what he said and thus surreptitiously omitting the statement in question but is a transcript of what he was supposed to say, handed out as a press release before he spoke, thus it was not ever intended as an exact word for word for what he said but representative of what he was to say.

 

Well funded means just that, just as much money, not just as much arms. If someone was to say that they wished that the schools in the US were as well funded as the military, I really don't think that person would be talking about arming the schools but providing them with enough money to do their job right.

 

Obama's already talking about funding schools, which would in essence be 'free daycare centers.'

HERE, he's talking about an ARMED FORCE, within our borders, having no one to answer to but the gov. Does that ring some bells?

And, seriously, NOW we're talking sending ARMED Peace Corps into the Middle East, who are also INFIDELS? How long do you think they are going to be able to stay alive? It is a ridiculous idea, for cryin' out loud, armed or not!

i mean, if someone is throwing out ludicrous plans, i have to wonder what the ACTUAL plan is, and again, trying to tie all of Obama's quotes together, and get decent reports, the Actual Plan is NOT the 'change' that i want to make.

 

Just looked it up ~ under the educational miser, Bush, the budget in 2006 was:

Yeah. That's BILLIONS of dollars.

How much more money could anyone want to throw at a broken system that just keeps getting worse???

Gotta EDUCATE this armed civilian security force, right? Free school from 3 mos. old and up. Prepare them for 'the future.'

So, i guess all the other programs will just have to fall by the wayside, right?

 

Or you could cut the military budget in half. Nah, never gonna happen.
