I just picked this stuff up today called trader joe's tea tree tingle shampoo because it looked like it could be pretty good for my locks and i've been having some scalp problems with bronners. (I do a deep cleanse every once in awhile and thats lovely). Anyway, the ingredients for the shampoo are water, tea tree oil, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, rosemary oil, nettle oil, thyme oil, birch leaf oil, chamomile, clary, lavender, coltsfoot leaf, yarrow oil, mallow, horsetail oil, soybean protein, coconut derived c12-14 olefin sulfonate, cocamidopropyl betaine, tocopherol (vit e), trace minterals, citric acid (corn), sodium hydroxymethyglycinate, sea salt, grapefruit seed. no larel/lareth sulfates and suitable for all hair types. It looks like pretty good stuff and FAR less wacky chemical names than the usual shampoo. most of the ingredients are organic. I picked up some conditioner too, wondering if that would be useful.. water, tea tree, peppermint, eucalyptus, nettle, thyme, birch, chamomile, clary, coltsfoot, yarrow, mallow, horsetail, soybean protein, cetyle alcohol (plant derived), vit e, trace minterals, citric acid, sodium hydroxymethylgycinate, grapefruit seed. It seems very similar ingredient-wise. Anyway do you all think this stuff would be good to use for my hair? My dreads are about 16 months old. Conditioner or no? happy halloween :hat:
shampoo sounds like it should be okay. i use something similar, from avalon organics, a peppermint one. i wouldn't use conditioner unless your locks are seriously dry. even then, i'd just use aloe or something like that. you don't want to build up residue.
i just used the shampoo and it was quite nice i must say. I rinsed for days as the bottle suggests.. doesn't feel residuey but won't be dry for another few hours. Sometimes i'll mix tea tree, eucalyptus, peppermint, and almond bronners into the same dilution bottle and it kinda felt like that but left my scalp in much better shape. I'll probably alternate with bronners or the like.. thanks for the replys (i'll get pictures up eventually)
