not really, i was reasonable until the same criticisms were repeated over and over.

 

a weed addiction is not just 'psychological'. When you smoke weed you are acting directly on neurochemical circuits in your brain. When you watch tv or eat chocolate, you are only indirectly influencing brain activity. Although those neurochemical circuits that are turned on by THC do not directly lead to addiction, they pose a situation that is TOTALLY different to other 'psychological' addictions.

well it should be accepted because it is true and plenty of teens become stoners partly because of the whole fuckin 'i cant be a weed addict'. You can be a weed addict. your life can completely change when you start smoking weed and that can include putting lots of money and time into ganja and also shifting your conception of what your lifestyle includes. At a certain point you might start thinking of being stoned as your normal state.

Hey, people can live fine lives like this. I smoke plenty of weed. But I think that I gained a lot of control in life simply by accepting that I have a habit of putting a chemical in my body. It helps us put our thoughts into perspective. Do I want to get high because I want to be stoned right now or do I want to be high because its what I do and I just wanna do what I do, or do i want to be high because I dont want to be sober, or do I want to be high because why not?

Smoking ganja is a slippery slope and if it is to be legalised or decriminalised, then people have to GET REAL

I am beginning to understand what you mean by 'addiction' with weed.

Although, I am not so sure that this type of addiction can be detrimental. Many people may shift over some of their interests, and many report that their lives are happier as a result, so I really don't know.

I really don't think weed is addicting at all, especially comparing it to other drugs. Try doing oxycontin for a year straight, and then trying to quit... or shooting up dope for years, weed is a cinch compared to harder drugs. Yea you can get yourself addicted but its really not hard to stop. And I've smoked massive massive amounts of weed in my life.

 

Yeah exactly. The people in Amsterdam have their shit down. I have a lot of Dutch friends who smoke copious ammounts of reefer and are still able to function normally in everyday society. I also knew this kid from Jersey who went to school in Amsterdam, and he thought that it was going to be easy there where he can just blaze his ass off all day. Well thats what he did. At the end of it all, he ended dropping out after a few semesters because all he did was just smoke and skip class. These things can be taken for granted by a lot of people. If you are an irresponsible person in the first place, weed will make you even mroe of an irresponsible person. If you are responsible person, you wont have a problem with weed.

 

you realise there are other people in the world outside your group of friends? a hell of a lot of people smoke weed alone, whether by choice or being forced into it.

weed has a psychological addiction, higher potential than most other things for addiction to occur because it affects reward pathways in the brain. also if people have an oral fixation they will be more likely to be addicted to smoking in any form. people get addicted to both the act of smoking and the high itself.

why are people still arguing over weed addiction?

not trying to insult you or put you down, but you might have some underlying psychological issues if you find weed makes you depressed. you should ask your parents if you have any history of mental illness in the family.

 

I smoke alone, I have found if I smoke alone I tend to smoke less and enjoy the high more. When smoking in a group I end up smoking more than I wanted to and get passed my comfort level.
